"Here we go..."

LAST EDITED ON 10-09-03 AT 02:07 AM (EDT)

Hey greetings all,
I made my first post in the "How did we get here?" thread, rather than in here. Ahh well. Anyway, my name is Ed Dobrzyn and I live in Plano, TX (right next to Dallas). I'm a long time anime/manga fan, just not as rabid about it as I used to be. If you read my post in the "How did we get here?" thread, then you know how I got here. I work as a Test Cell Operator/Inspector for a turbine engine overhaul facility in Dallas. I also do the "weekend warrior" thing in the Texas Air National Guard. My interests include anime, science fiction, comics, manga, movies and cars. I'm currently building up a 90 Eagle Talon TSi/AWD as a competitive street car that will be just as home on the strip as the street. If I'm not working on one of my own cars, you can usually find me under a friend's car helping them out or making some side money to fuel my addiction to boost. Anyway, I figured I'd stop lurking and participate in this forum since I've been reading it for over a year. Take care.

Not really. Plano is a northern suburb of Dallas. Palestine is about two hours' drive (100 miles) southeast of Dallas.

Palestine, incidentally, is about two and a half hours' drive (120 miles) north-northwest of where I live.

Er?

I could think of a number of reasons to call Texas overlarge (including the fact that, for example, Interstate 10 runs from mile marker 0 at Anthony, NM to mile 878 at Orange, TX), but three points on a line about 230 miles long doesn't seem to me to be -quite- adequate.

But then, I live in a county which is almost as large, in square miles of land area, as Rhode Island... and it's one of the -smaller- ones here in Texas...

Not that I know of. There's like a million and one towns, cities, one stoplight speedtraps situated near the DFW metroplex. I couldn't name half of them if my life depended on it. Texas is one big state, and that's how we like it.

Thankfully, no. However people are still fighting over there so the possibility still exists. I try not to worry about it too much.

I used to live in Webster and Leauge City, which are suburbs of Houston Proper. The State of Texas, which I used to drive up towards DFW and Arkansas every year to visit my father... Is way too big.
