   This made me think, "At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Witolda was a were-bear, an actual shapeshifter, and just never thought to tell anyone."

Perrine would then go looking for a bottle and Lynne would tell her "Don't bite Yoshika-chan, please" in her best Britannian "Keep Calm and Carry On" voice.
