"Jupiter Ascending"

From the looks of things, the movie is an outright bomb. But I love the aesthetics:

I may watch the film just to see some of these designs in action, not gonna lie. Even if the story is one step shy of a garbage heap, designs this pretty can't help but be interesting to watch.

Also, is it just me or do these ship designs bear a certain familial resemblance to the craft in Xenosaga?

I'm of much the same opinion. Might have seen it today, if family obligations had not interfered, And tomorrow looks... messy

The image with Balem Abrasax written at the top (the first big image) reminds me, at first glance, of a head-on view of the Alien from Alien. Not so much when you zoom it.

This maybe a movie that Sean Bean wants to die in early...

It's a Wachowskis movie. Guff, but stylish guff all the same. That's what they're for. =]

So, watched it. My wife had a fantastic review afterwards: "It might have been a little better if it were just a little worse."

But it had an albino space werewolf get into a fight with a space dragon using anti gravity boots, so..you know...go see that.

Having just watched this the other day I can say this.

If you ignore the first 30-45 minutes, the dull (minus actual conflict scenes) stuff and watch from when it gets to the space/universe stuff, it becomes a half decent "EVE-Online" style movie (including "immortals")
the Aegis ship reminded me heavily of Caldari style ships, Prince Titus' royal vessel could pass for Amarrian, and the whole Jupiter complex was Minmitar.
The fact everything was controlled by "profits" just added to it.

TL;DR Ignore the cliche overused romance and watch as a movie adaptation of EVE-Online.

Also, Figure skating in space.

See Comment.
