Japan has recognized Gojira/Godzilla as a resident and tourism ambassador. Does that mean he could run for a seat in the Diet?
According to the article, he's a resident of Shinjuku.

   Of course this just means he will have to pay taxes on all that movie income, not to mention the liability insurance he will now be required to carry :)
