Well, there's a poor start to a day. :( I've said this before, but it's worth repeating: My favorite thing about Sir Christopher Lee was that, as far as I can tell, he never let the fact that a film was obviously going to suck stop him from putting in a full day's work on it. The man, at age 90, recorded a METAL ALBUM! And, there is not one bit of age quiver or inability to support that voice, that I can hear. Considering I heard Kris Kristofferson not quite up to it at 72, and he's a professional singer, that's an amazing voice. ...! Gott's Leetle Feesh in Trousers! |

A friend of mine put it best, I think. "Christopher Lee is like one of those long, storied, and highly acclaimed franchises that you're satisfied rather than sad to see end." If but that we all could live lives as varied and INTERESTING as his, going out in our 90s, having just completed a metal album. - Berk Watkins Student of Quantum Bogodynamics |

Randomly ran across this excellent summary in an old Mingles with Jingles video from before Sir Christopher died. Now, Chuck Norris is pretty badass. I mean, he's got the same birthday as me, so he must be awesome. But, um... let me tell you a few things about Sir Christopher Lee.He was Dracula. He was a Bond villain. He helped Ian Fleming write James Bond. He volunteered to fight for Finland in the Winter War with Russia. He was Sherlock Holmes and he was Mycroft Holmes. He was Death. He was Lucifer. He was Count Dooku. He was Saruman. He was Lord Summerisle. He recorded a heavy metal concept album about Charlemagne. He hunted Nazis for a living during World War II. He was part of a secret agent unit called the Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. When he was told by Peter Jackson to imagine how a man being stabbed in the back sounds? He quite calmly turned around and told him, "Don't have to imagine it, old boy." He's fluent in English, Italian, French, German, and Spanish. He's moderately proficient in Swedish, Russian, and Greek. And he's merely conversational in Mandarin Chinese. He's ninety years old. When Sir Christopher Lee dies? We might consider allowing Chuck Norris to play him in a biopic of his life. You know - if he asks nicely. --G.
