"A Theoretical I hesitate to Post"

With the seeminly near release of NXE:AP, I indulged myself with a rereading of the series. Fist of all, my compliments to Grphon et al. I had forgotten how enjoyable NXE was. However, in the watching of the reruns, the glaring adoption of three of the inner Senshi (two by inclusion, one by reference) slapped me upside my head. In my defense, I've not watched a single whole episode of the bastardized American SM and all the fanfic I've read has used the girls correct names.

As for the theoretical. I hesitate to even suggest this, but given Ami's inclusion and ever seemingly ever-increasing importance to the Archangelion project, can it reasonably be expected that the fuku's are going fly?

I stand back and await the collective shudder... :)

No.

That can't even be unreasonably expected.

I believe that in a previous discussion of this way back when the forum was young, Gryphon stated that he needed some filler/bit part characters and the gang from SM sort of fell into it. That Amy is taking a bigger part in the later series was, IIRC, not planned when she originally showed up onscreen...

For comfort, think of them as being dimensional counterparts of the Senshi - similiar in personality and appearance, but otherwise Just Normal Folks.

This isn't to say that Amy isn't a genius or that Serena isn't a Great Soul who comes across as the perfect bubblehead, just that there's no wands or cats involved.

Blessed be.

And as I recall, the recounted insistence of some clueless wonder that their presence meant that the Senshi would show up and solve everyone's problems (despite Gryphon assuring him otherwise) was soundly laughed at en masse at around the same time.

If it were any other reason and/or not so well writen I would have stopped reading NEX a long time ago. Fact is it was so well written that it didn't click till now (no talking cats or thinly vailed hentai)

Huh. I remember the obvious two, but I don't recall noticing the reference to the third. Footnote, please?

Mmmm. Okay, I think I'm dredging up a vague memory of her part now, but I'm gonna have to go back to the source to be sure. Thanks.

Mina (I think) is the one that lets Asuka know that she has been repressing/redirecting her feelings for DJ

Serena teases Amy about her date with DJ

Amy tutors DJ and then gets herself sucked into X-COM (sorta)

I don't think the others appear anywhere, but they might be mentioned.

I seem to recall it being mentioned that she had 4 close friends at one point probably around the time she started tutoring DJ. I also recall Amy musing about her friends' families all having moved out of Worcester-3 shortly before she and her mum left the city.

It's a safe bet the others aren't in canada, which means the chances of them appearing again are _very_ small.

Off-topic: You a fan of Resident Evil there Chris? or is it just a coincidence?
