   To be fair, his last record, You Want It Darker (statement, not question) very, very clearly indicates he was aware it was time.

And if you want to take the long view, it's practically something he's been rehearsing for since his first record.

Cold comfort, sure, but I find this more bearable than some random motion of fate's hand.
