"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2"

I don't know if this should be here or source or whatever but I'd just like to say that, being as un-spoilery as possible, you should all see this movie. It is good.

....that is all. :)

Hell, I haven't seen the first one yet. That's not the movie's fault, though. I haven't actually gotten around to seeing any movie that came out since my kidney adventure, and that was five years ago, so there's quite a backlog now. (Last Marvel film I watched was Avengers 1.) I've got them all on Blu-Ray, I just... always seem to find other uses for the time.

I get the feeling you will either identify very strongly with Peter Quill, or you will absolutely loathe him.

I'm betting on the former.

"Lensman, sure. Putting him on drums in the band, OK. But why, exactly, did we bring Groot to Karaoke night?"

"Because nobody sings 'Soul Man' like Groot does."

Now I want somebody to put 'I am Groot' over Batman singing 'Am I Blue(Emma Blue?)' from the JLU episode...I think it was called This Little Piggy.

I'll put it this way. I have watched exactly two movies in a theater. I walked out of one of them (Blue Streak; it wasn't my choice). This one? I'd pay to see again. It is, to quote some of my off-site friends, A Good.

The GOTG movies are FUN, in a way that most movies (including sci-fi films) simply aren't these days.

And yet, it still manages to tug at your heartstrings when it needs to

   >Not gonna lie, I teared up. You know when.

One of the deaths that occurred had WAY more emotional weight behind it than it had earned, purely because of a casting choice. I kind of want to know if that was intentional or just a happy(?) coincidence.

Also, it was super great and everyone should see it, and I've had "Come a Little Bit Closer" stuck in my head for a week.
