"Special Forum-Exclusive Creative Content!"
|
Well, OK, it's nothing really Earth-shattering, just a little filk I wrote in honor of R. Dorothy Waynewright and her sisters in synthetic moodiness. ---- One Saturday I snuck into a secret lab I met a girl there she was laid out on a slab Robot girl Please look at me Robot girl What do you see? Let's travel round the world Just you and me robot girl I switched her on and asked her "Baby can I be your man?" She blinked at me and said "I do not understand" Robot girl You're in my space Robot girl Let's interface And then we'll hack some perl Just you and me robot girl We went to the Harvard Square T stop And heard the mariachis She said "I do not understand this 'music' concept" So I took her down to Newbie's and bought her some CDs A bunch of guys with shotguns started running toward us We headed for the T stop The fire doors were padlocked So she knocked down the wall Later we were abducted by a doomsday cult Their leader was a scientist and she was the result Robot girl This mystery Robot girl You are the key Built to destroy the world Yeah you're for me robot girl We broke loose from our captors And ran down Brattle Street The cultist freaks trailed us to a donut shop She laid down some kung fu hurting And that was really awesome She took a little damage but I know this guy who's good with tools My buddy Jay repaired her, then we took her bowling He said "What'd you pay for her?" I said "Nothin' man, she's stolen" Robot girl You look so cold Robot girl But your heart is gold For you I'd fight the world Just you and me Their doomsday plot unfurled Just you and me Built to destroy the world Just you and me Robot girl! - BDH, 04/10/2001, with apologies to the Dead Milkmen --G. -><- Benjamin D. >Gryph there are two classifications for ya man... > >1) Enormous "Big O" fan, This is true, but it's worth pointing out that R. Dorothy is hardly the only robot girl out there, and that "Robot Girl" isn't actually about any specific one of them. (I realized after I posted the song that I might have given somebody out there an erroneous notion of Big O's plot with the dedication, so, if I did, sorry.) >2) Someone who needs professional help for their robot fetish. Professional help hell, I just need Sony to hurry up and bring the development of the AIBO to its logical conclusion. And to get very, very rich. --G. -><- Benjamin D. I was more thinking along the lines of "Sony, meet RealDoll, RealDoll, meet Sony." You've got the robotics and A.I. on one side and the convincing exterior on the other. >Last time I was at the site was over a year ago, and they were selling >male 'parts' with the statement that full scale dolls were on the way. > I just assumed they'd gotten them out by now. Hm. Should I say it? There's a certain market segment which does not find male 'parts' and female bodies incompatible.

>There's a certain market segment which does not find male 'parts' and >female bodies incompatible. I would imagine they might ruffle a bit at being called a 'market segment', but I'm sure they're out there, yes. :) They're already build to order as it is. I suppose if you gave them enough money, they'd cobble together whatever you wanted. ::beats the idea of a female anthro-feline RealDoll with a stick and shoves it back into the deep, dark pit of perversion it jumped out of:: Still is a rather pointless concept without at least the AI, personality matrix, and basic robotics though. Silicon corpse otherwise. Eeegh. --------------------------- "I think we used too much." --------------------------- Chad Collier Digital Bitch J. Random VFX Company |

Fear this: This concept has already been explored in a source that everyone here will be quite familiar with. Don't look at me like that. They're called 33-S boomers. I prefer not to think about the implications of that, thank you. Blessed be, and I'm thinking of sentient rights, not outraged propriety. Nathan Baxter |

>I prefer not to think about the implications of that, thank you. "Look at you, lurking around in this dark basement surrounded by sex dolls that cost more than a Ferrari. It's a very unhealthy lifestyle. What would your mother think?" Or words to that effect. I'm too lazy to go look up the exact quote. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Oh, then I didn't miss anything that would have made it any better, good. Of course, how anything could make that better, I don't know. I mean, how do you expand on perfection? Ah, well, I'm rambling, I'll shut up. --NE
