"Omnibus 6"

A good excuse to re-read some of the minis. I had forgotten how much I liked Harly's story. The Great Sky Bison Hijack of 2397: Somehow I had expected something on a larger scale given the name, but I suppose unwittingly leading a small heard through some impromptu aerobatics is enough of an "oops" moment for a five year old. The Holiday Spirit: I, unfortunately, have little knowledge of the source material to really get this. Still, good to get some background on Corwin's, and Korra's, past. Welcome to Republic City: Ah, poor Maki. She never stood a chance. fyi, the date on the what's new page is 2013/05/25, should it be 2013/07/25? |

Well, with most of the Air Nomads out nomading, that was pretty much all the sky bison who were on the island at the time... >Welcome to Republic City: Ah, poor Maki. She never stood a chance. Like I said in the S5M5 annotations: I've recently come to the conclusion that the ladies love Corwin 'cause he doesn't want to change them. Help them be who they are, sure. :) >fyi, the date on the what's new page is 2013/05/25, should it be >2013/07/25? Yes, yes it is. --G. -><- Benjamin D. He knew she could keep herself in one piece up here without his patronage. He was just telling her he wasn't going to let her fail in her mission. A lesser man would probably not avoid implying that her worries about letting him kill himself are unfounded. Fortunately, Corwin is a better man. If this is a Serious Matter to Maki, then it is automatically a Serious Matter to him and he will treat it as such. -- With great power come great perks. |

>> between her ancestral mastery of the waterbender's healing arts and her mother's chickenshark soup recipe > >First, you kill and beach one (1) chickenshark... Arctic Hen and Chickenshark can be used in many of the same recipes in the Southern Water Tribe. It's mostly a matter of personal preference and availability. Chickenshark is used in many more dishes than just in the Water Tribes, thanks to its aquatic free-roaming nature. One such entree is the popular Fire Nation dish, "Admiral Zhao's Chickenshark": a spicy meal of glazed chopped chickenshark, served way too soon and way too hot, so if you don't leave it sit until everyone else's entrees have arrived, you'll only hurt yourself. --- Philip

I love re-reading that particular trilogy, and not just because a line I came up with got used in the third one. They're great fun to read in general. Gotta say, I loved the train surfing. Never letting a godling out of your sight is probably one of the most thankless tasks in the entirety of the UF universe, if not -the- most. At least the guys who clean the sewer outlets on Takron-Galtos have a union. --- "Yeah, I'm definitely going to hell/But I'll have all the best stories to tell" -- Frank Turner, The Ballad of Me and My Friends I definitely don't squee a little every time I read Revive. Nossir. Not in the slightest. Nuh-uh. |
