The various 'red herring', Tim Curry and Mr. Green references are from an old movie called Clue (based on the boardgame of the same name). It's a fun movie.

As Norgarth said, it's a funny movie. It's one of those movies If you caught it in the cinema you are lucky. It is a pretty novel movie it uses some of the tricks that Steven Soderbergh used in Ocean's 11 and has three interconnected endings.
It's set in the early 50s so there's a load of references to things that were going on back then.
Rent it and it is called Clue

Pattrick

Clue is, indeed a fun movie, although for me it has odd associations as the first time I saw Clue it was on the dorm VCR immediately following my first (and only) exposure to RHPS - in the form of a full audience-participation showing in a theater. Given that I really hadn't watched that many movies growing up, and didn't really pay attention to the casting (as opposed to the characters) of the ones I did watch, my reaction was something along the lines of:

"Wait a second - that guy looks familiar. What the? Is this some kind of joke?"

Then I just sat back and enjoyed the movie.

He dug out his Dreamcast and started playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2, which led to a discussion of Doctor Doom and a train of thought how some of the better X-Men are left out while some of the lamer ones are featured prominently. Apparently all the noise woke up Don. :)

They've actually been letting the dead rest the last few years. Thunderbird died back in the 80s (maybe the late 70's) and has never returned. and in more recent years casulties have included Illayana(sp?) Rasputin(Magick), Moira MacTaggart, Peter Rasputin(Colossus), Betsy Braddock(Psylock), even Magneto seems to be staying dead this time around (of course, due to him and a few million other mutants being murdered by a supersentinel doing a good impression of Hiroshima, he's become something of a martyr).

Incidentally, Kitty's dad was part of a UN humanitarian aid mission in Genosha when Hammer Bay (the Genoshan capital) was annihilated. He was killed as well.

Don was terribly conflicted about whether he should even bother trying to stop them. (If anyone is terribly curious, he did, because that's what Time Lords do, try to stop the Daleks. And he and his sub-team did manage to stop them from blowing anything else up... )

Happy cheery Dalek nutters! Whether from the Combine or just some Renegades, Don will probably just stare and then go, "Good grief."

He may actually be RELIEVED to hear about the Imperial Daleks - just to show him that the universe isn't COMPLETELY gone off its rocker.

("AAAAA! Dalek!"
"Greetings! I-Am-Frankie-The-Dalek! How-Are-You-Today?"
