"This sounds absolutely amazing"

LAST EDITED ON Oct-16-17 AT 02:26 PM (EDT)

The UK newspaper The Mirror reports that singer Ed Sheeran has been rushed to the hospital after having been hit by a car. Now, that's not too amazing, I did that myself last week(get hit, not rush to the hospital). In my case, I got away with a broken pinky, but it still sucked. BUT!

I don't know who this guy is, I don't recognize the name OR the face in the pictures. I might've heard him before, couldn't say. I might even LIKE his singing, for all I know, if I have heard it. But the article specifically states that he's a "singer", alternatively a "crooner", which as I recall from Sinatra means "can't actually sing for shit but the women-folk like him".

Anyways, the "crooner" has broken his right arm, and has his left in a strap. This is given as a reason for a possible and as it seems probable reason for him not performing in a number of tour dates in Asia.

And THAT means that, no matter if I find I don't actually like his music, I still have to go watch him perform. Because when I was a kid, I managed various, at the time hilarious, fart-sounds out of my arm-pit...but a guy that SINGS WITH HIS ARMS?! I mean, that's just INCREDIBLE...how can I possible not watch that, no matter the quality of singing?

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Ed Sheeran and his Amazing SINGING ARMS!"
Just...wow. Definetly off to see if and when this guy performs around here.

Singer can't perform tour dates because broken arm(s). So, presumably, he sings with his arms, then? Because while a broken arm isn't fun, I've had mine broken in various ways 4 times...I don't see how it would interfere with singing, particularly if the singer in question can post pictures of himself on Twitter(which I didn't mention, but he did).

And, you know, a person that sings with his arms is just EPIC...so, must watch(or, you know, he does more than just sing, but article specifically mention him as "singer" and "crooner"). Could've been that he's very Italian and emotes with waving arms, I suppose, but with a name of "Ed Sheeran", I have to say it doesn't seem likely.

Ah.

Well, he may not sing with his arms, as such, but I submit that the logistics of being on tour likely pose some pretty significant challenges at this point. I mean, unless he's some sort of Stig-like novelty act where they wheel him onto the stage strapped to a hand truck at the beginning of the show.

Could be, I suppose. I freely admit I don't honestly know. But, from what one HEAR about touring artists/bands, I don't think that that part sound all that strenous? Unless you count the hassle of shooting up/drinking straight out of the Jack Daniels bottle, with a busted arm? Which, I suppose, would present issues...

Note that, as I said, I dunno, maybe he does more/other things...or work on the roadie crew as well...it was just the instant thought of "the singer can't go on tour because broken arm that isn't worse broken than he can go on twitter about it" that then lead to "this must mean he SINGS with his ARMS" because what else about that would keep him from touring.

On the other hand, it wouldn't actually be a let-down if they DID wheel him onto the stage, either. As well as feel vagely "Ragulin in Paris", although that was an actual machine, which presumably Mr. Sheeran is not(although the Stig is still unclear).

So, I take it you didn't know that he plays guitar.

And I take it that a celebrity having somebody else take a photograph and post it to their Twitter account is unheard of in your experience.

There. Two things you've learned today.

Which means he's awake, alert and able to, at the very least, consent to someone else posting for him, if not out and out able to do it himself.

>There. Two things you've learned today.

One, but yep, I did. On the other hand, I already managed reading comprehension, what with it saying "singer" in both the byline and the article body. Judging from the above, you might want to train in it.

I'm also at least as skilled as you in "snotty arsehole". I just don't default to it, it would seem.

Be fair, people don't usually turn on each other that quickly around here.

I should probably lock this thread, not likely any good can come of it.
