"Happy Birthday, Rebecca Schoenberg!"
 
   And I hear the cries of, "Who the **** is Rebecca Schoenberg?!"

She's a person who I only know of by Usenet postings.

She's a veterinarian.

She's one of those Wonderful People Whose Birthday Should Not Be Forgotten By Anybody Who Matters. But somehow or another, it happens to her. Repeatedly.

And December 15 is her birthday.

In my infinite insanity, I have decided that I will make note of her birthday. Every year. Anywhere that I think I can get away with it. (If this thread is locked by Tuesday, then I didn't get away with it.)

If I do this, maybe the people who matter to her will remember her birthday as well.

And yes, I am weird. Like you needed further proof.

Actually, I remember her birthday already, because when she told it to me, something like eight years ago, she said offhandedly, "But you'll forget it. Everbody always forgets my birthday."

Considering that she lived for a summer in our house, in the room Truss now occupies.

We've both known Becky for a while. I think I first met her in 1994.

On the other side of the coin, Derek died five years ago.

All things considered, I'm under the impression that any random gweep.net user probably knows any other random gweep.net user to at least say hi to :). So I'd call the whole thing off and order a pizza anyway ^_^.

...for the record, speaking both from personal experience and observation, I don't think there's any way to have a birthday between about 12/10 and 12/30 and not have it suck in some way... (edit: missed a tag)

for the most part, true. there are a few whom I haven't met IRL, some I've
only chatted with online, and a whole lot of friends or friends of friends.
Gweep circles overlap with the local theatre circles, LARP circles,
Networking circles, and computer geek cicles.

Rebecca I met during a LARP running at WPI and have seen a few more times
since then.

nope.. no misspell. a co-worker of mine suggested that pizza topping combo
to me when she heard that I was a fan of pineapple and pepper pizza.

she used "Aeris" as her IRC nick.
