"The Saga of Lukr Anakinsson"

....and some other folks whose names will be rather familiar.

A friend of mine sent me a link to this saga which, as the name suggests, takes the conceit that Star Wars is a remake of a German chivalric romance which is itself a retelling of an Icelandic saga.

And they tell the whole thing, and it is glorious. It took me a couple hours to read through it, but they were hours well-spent.

Describing it as "glorious" is inadequate — this is mindbogglingly excellent.

It's also reviving my memories of one of the first texts of this type I came across online. Written in the style of a chapter in the History of Middle-Earth books, it chronicles the sad story of part of JRRT's epic works that had to be abandoned. It had lots of exciting stuff; the Blue Wizards, a bit over a handful of Dwarf kings, a woodcutter, and an Evil Queen, among others. The only copy of the story was loaned to someone who pinched it and used the plot for something of his own devising. It was called "The Tale of Lossiel".

If you're now ROTFL you're as much of a Tolkien nerd as I am. Yes, it's "Snow White", and the manuscript pincher is identified in the text only as "Walt".

And... I just found a link to the original file. Lots of other fun stuff there.

The name of this reminded me of a story I read. A story of the slave people of Tatooine and of their language and traditions. A story of Depur the slave master and Ekkreth, the Sky-Walker, The Slave Who Makes Free. A story of Lukka, the Free, and Leia, the Mighty One, and more than anything, of Fulcrum, the highest-placed agent and most closely held secret of all of the Resistance.

If you want an amazing read with a back-story that boggled me, then go look up Double Agent Vader.
