"Poking my nose in after a long time"

From the read links in my work browser on the What's New page, I haven't stopped by EPU since about Thanksgiving 2019. Which makes sense, now that I think about it, since I was sick most of December (thought it was a bad flu, though in hindsight it may well have been an early strain of Covid based on symptoms), spent most of January trying to catch up from that, and then had carpal tunnel surgery in February. And just when I got over that, Covid lockdowns hit SE PA and I was pseudo-homeschooling my kids while working from home... *sigh* Things are still crazy, but there's an apparent light at the end of the tunnel, so here's hoping.

In any event, It's nice to see that you guys have been able to be productive during this crazy time, and I hope everyone on the Forum - author and fan alike - have managed to stay safe, sane, and healthy over the past year+. I'd like to say that I'll be slowly catching up, but knowing me once I read the first story that really grabs me I'll probably binge read the rest. :)

Oof. Seems like we've all had the shitty kind of busy year.

Safe, yes, for the most part.

Sane? I'll let you be the judge. :)

Healthy... ehhh, well, it was no 2012, I'll give it that much.

I look forward to your thoughts on Gallian Gothic, which owned my entire brain rent-free for about a third of last year. :) (And still has a clear title to at least one lobe, but, uh, jeez there's been a lot of noise to try and focus through the last couple days...)

I picture this is what Korra has to do sometimes to 'lay down the law' when the past lives start getting a little loud, ala Korben Dallas.

Thanks, I think... :)

I think that's a safe assumption. And in all honesty, I and my family have been rather lucky in the grand scheme of things as compared to many others. Not that it feels that way when you're stuck in your own head dealing with things...

Sanity is a relative thing, I'll grant you that. Given how bad it could be (and I know it has been for some), anyone who's managed to keep their heads above water and in even mostly stable condition deserves congratulations. Not to mention, I think it's safe to say that we're all a little insane, but hopefully in a good way.

Yeah, about that. I think it's safe to say that I haven't even started catching up yet, and may not for a bit more, but I do look forward to it. Especially knowing that most of what's out there is stuff that took over your brain - having had that experience this past weekend (albeit in a MUCH smaller scale :)), those are always the most interesting stories to read. Not to mention the fact that you have a pretty good track record with that kind of thing in my experience. :)

Here's hoping things don't get any worse before the 20th, and that things will start getting better after that. And that's all I'm gonna say so I don't end up ranting in the wrong place. :)
