Five-year veterans of Transbelvian automobile construction believe that given a bench vise, a bench to mount it on, a hammer, and a bastard file, they could build a Belv in a cave, with a box of scraps.

Ten-year veterans are confident that they could make their own cave with the tools provided, use the quarried stone to build a bench, haul the box of scraps inside, and build a Belv.

Twenty-year veterans insist that a hammer and a bastard file are all one needs to build a Belv, assuming that one is not under any pressure to produce a Belv this decade.

All of them are right; experience counts for a lot.

Instructions unclear; assembled a Belv out of a box of hammers and files

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea

Could be worse; one guy tried to assemble a box of hammers and files from a cave full of scrap Belvs.
