>20:00 [Sports] Iron Chef >Krayt Dragon Battle - Tuncer challenges Chen to see who can >best prepare desert planet Tatooine's five-ton apex predator. Guest >commentator: TV newscaster Nanami Jinnai. (Repeat) <snicker> That's so perfect, esp. with Nanami as the commentator. >21:00 [Sports] Iron Chef >Kraken Battle - Salusian arch-foodie Kalen Jerani demands a >deep-sea rematch with Iron Chef Morisato. Guest commentator: teacher >Eiko Rose. (Repeat)
Always wondered what happened to Kalen...but what's with Eiko? Surely Iris or an Idol of some sort would be more appropriate; and isn't Iron Chef filmed in New Japan? >22:00 [Sports] Iron Chef >Mi-Go Battle - Challenger HK-47 and Iron Chef Morimoto must >subdue, then find creative ways of cooking, the fungi from Yuggoth. >Guest commentator: security consultant Tramm Wigzell.
??? HK-47? Is this a storm trooper? I also missed the s.c. refernce. >23:00 [News] NewsSource 17 at 11 > >23:30 [Talk] Late Night with Bobby Drake >Guests include filmmaker Chad Collier and extreme sports athlete/actor >Xander Cage (The Crimson Lizard vs. xXx). Musical guests: The >Uncanny X-Band.
Convient that band, esp. as he's in it. > >02:30 [Movie] (**) Under the Tusken Suns >(Color; 2365) A depressed author (Iris de Chateaubriand) moves to >Tatooine on a whim and finds a second chance at happiness among the >savage Sand People. Dave: Shinichiro Ohta.
>snicker> I missed it, but I could see it as an English Patient meets Star Wars, much less than that ridiculous Diane Lane fable. t. HK-47? Is this a storm trooper? I also missed the s.c. refernce. HK-47, the single most hilarious Assassin droid ever. HK-47 comes from Knights of the old Republic. Tramm Wigzell's involved with Cartoon Network and Justice League. > >> >>02:30 [Movie] (**) Under the Tusken Suns >>(Color; 2365) A depressed author (Iris de Chateaubriand) moves to >>Tatooine on a whim and finds a second chance at happiness among the >>savage Sand People. No, that's an injustice--she's hardly the disposable pop doll that the term "idol" implies. Eiko's a genuine star. I mean, don't you watch Thunder Force? :) Zox --- Rob Madson, a.k.a. >Always wondered what happened to Kalen...but what's with Eiko? Surely >Iris or an Idol of some sort would be more appropriate; Eiko's reasonably famous from having been on Thunder Force, and is a well-known food fan. >and isn't Iron Chef filmed in New Japan? Tomodachi. New Japan is much too uptight and corporate to produce a program as wacky as Iron Chef. HK-47, as someone else has already noted, is a droid from a video game. In the game, all he can do is translate, make snarky remarks, and kill things, but, as we see here, the UF version also does the cooking aboard the ship his master calls home. And, as more than one dockworker has learned to his chagrin, he's picky about how his galley gets restocked. ["Query: Which do you think we're going to use more of, meatbag? The coffee? Or the lard?"] >>Musical guests: The Uncanny X-Band. > >Convient that band, esp. as he's in it. Hey, some days you just can't be bothered to spend all day on the phone trying to line up a musical guest. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. Sorry, when I saw this I suddenly had an image of an anime called Yu-Mi-Go!... I can't figure out, though, if the fungi are the players or the played... -- Bob ------------------- "You're trying to create art. They're going out for burgers. You know what I mean? >Yu-Mi-Go!... > >I can't figure out, though, if the fungi are the players or the >played... You know, it's funny you should mention this; every time I see a Yu-Gi-Oh! product, I find myself thinking it would make an excellent series of which to stage a vicious parody in a Call of Cthulhu campaign, preferably with Unspeakable Horrors emerging from the cards and eating the obnoxious teenage kids who thought they could control the hideous forces from beyond the stars. Actually, that concept works pretty well when applied mentally to any of the 30-minute collectable-whatsit commercials. --G. "Yog-Sothoth, I choose you! Go forth and destroy my enemies! ... No!
