The Forum's own Dave Menard has accepted a staff artist position here at Eyrie Productions, which increases our official artists' complement to four (not counting Graphics Director Truss). As a result, his Forum account now sports the coveted Green Guy icon and his Symphony artworks have been moved from the fanart page to the staff page.

Dave's not getting any money for this, and, indeed, it probably won't really change much about the way he works, except that I'll probably pester him with suggestions more often. It's mainly our way of recognizing that he's got chops, he's good at taking micromanagement about character designs, and he has a sometimes startling knack for making things look like we think they ought to look. Remember over in the UF forum I said that some artists are particularly good at translating the images in my head? Well, Dave seems to be one of them. His Don Griffin, if you're curious, is what finally clinched it for me. :)

Congratulations to Dave and to the Forum as a whole - Dave is the first Forum user we didn't already know to be invited into the ranks of the Usual Suspects.

Congratulations, Dave! You definitely deserve it, in my book--both for the quantity and especially the quality of your work.

If nothing else, this takes some of the pressure off us other fan artists. "Well of course his stuff's great, he's staff..." :)
