"Hello, again."
|
LAST EDITED ON Apr-04-07 AT 02:59 AM (EDT) by Gryphon (admin) [Switched the link to a local EPU copy of the image (no popups that way), did the fake CGI trick to keep DCF from inlining the image. --G.]I keep forgetting to lurk and keep my account active. Well, here's something from the shadowy depths, also known as, "my mind". http://www.eyrie-productions.com/UF/FI/SOS/GFX/yk-gunnr02.jpg?x Enjoy. I may resurface in a long time. Maybe. Really. Really, really. Re- *END TRANSMISSION* P.S. Sometimes, I hate ImageShack. P.P.S. Anyone who guesses what inspired the gun in the left hand gets a completely virtual cookie. |

It looks maddeningly familiar - especially the geometry of the grip, stock, and that "buttress" deal that connects them - but I can't place it. --G. -><- Benjamin D. LAST EDITED ON Apr-05-07 AT 09:45 PM (EDT) >But the one pictured has the clip in front of the trigger. On a >barrel that short. Makes it look more like an oversized pistol... Nitpicking: that is a magazine, not a clip. They're both feeding devices, but clips are not boxes, do not feed with a spring (that I know of, anyway; Gryph may correct me, since he seems to have a broader knowledge of obscure, interesting older guns than I do), and there's probably one or two other significant differences that aren't coming to my foggy brain at the moment. Anyway, I'm going to agree with the above and say that it looks rather Seburo-ish. And unless there's some funky technology or somesuch that I'm not aware of (or there are some serious drugs involved, and not the good kind), I'd guess that magazine sticking out from under the barrel is a bit like the magazine that hangs off the dust cover of a CZ-75 Automatic -- it's not actually the feeding magazine, but a place to hang your second magazine. Otherwise, that barrel would be ludicrously short, meaning it would be horribly inaccurate even for an automatic weapon. And there's no reason to have something that bulky have a barrel so short. - Sean "All tribal myths are true, for a given value of 'true.'" -- Terry Pratchett, from _The Last Continent_ |
