"Spoilerish Hunted Rose Thoughts"

I don't expect Gryph to answer these, for obvious reasons, but I thought others might not have caught them: 1. Liza isn't a telepath (that's stated point blunt), but the Psi Corps was intent on forcibly recruiting her. Why? 2. How much does Roger Tremayne know, and how much can he figure out? Minor, obvious items: Dios is credited with an appearance, but his name is only in the credits. Can you figure out where he was? Peril is just an ordinary cat, right? Right? What will be the political aftermath of these events? Is this the first major break in the facade of peace and prosperity? Thanks Luc "Not going to guess" French |

>Dios is credited with an appearance, but his name is only in the >credits. Can you figure out where he was? My guess is he was the guy in Corwin's dream. That is if Dios is who I am remembering Dios to be... Technically, I guess, Durandal could be deOS! ;-) Static-Pulse - the most impulsive post alive DarkBeast.com |

>Dios is credited with an appearance, but his name is only in the >credits. Can you figure out where he was? It's sort of obvious, I think. He's only not mentioned by name because Corwin doesn't know his name. >Peril is just an ordinary cat, right? Right? Yes. They aren't exactly rare in Worcester. --G. -><- Benjamin D. I'm feeling high on life at the moment, so I'll take a shot: >1. Liza isn't a telepath (that's stated point blunt), but the Psi >Corps was intent on forcibly recruiting her. Why? I think the answer is politics. Liza is being forced to call home and tell her parents that she's staying on campus...then she'll be forced to join PsiCorp as it's first Zeta Cygni operative. Liza clearly has some talent. I'll let other people speculate on what that talent is other than being a real ingrate and a bitch. Her talent may be one reason RT wants to keep her, but another reason is because her joining the PsiCorp will help promote the PsiAct. After all Zeta Cygni was colonized by people who came from Earth. It is not compling with the PsiCorp -- but it can't stop it's citizens from voluntarily joining the PsiCorp. And that's just the first step, as he said, to getting rid of a petty point of law... >2. How much does Roger Tremayne know, and how much can he figure out?
Um, as much as we can? We've got more data... >Dios is credited with an appearance, but his name is only in the >credits. Can you figure out where he was? Been there done that - he was in Corwin's prophetic dream, does he really need to be named? >Peril is just an ordinary cat, right? Right? Yup. Thank god one of them is... >What will be the political aftermath of these events? Is this the >first major break in the facade of peace and prosperity?
To take the last one first...it's the second major break we've seen courtesy of Truss and Network 23. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the full story yet, so until it comes out on Network 23, we're not going to see real fireworks. As for the other, more military stuff, it's been coming. I suppose what will happen next is that the Federation won't hold a trial about Devlin (will be moot once Devlin marries Amanda and they kill Xenia). For the crisis to really flare up, the PsiCorp or Earthforce or the Freespacers or the Gamilions would need to do something fairly serious. So yes, there will be a political aftermath, in which these actions are only a small part. The recent events maybe the catalyst to something bigger. What is clear is that the lines between enemy and friend are still blury...and that Earthforce isn't read yet to rumble with the rest of the universe. When they stop backing down is when we'll have real trouble. t. Trigger Argee trigger_argee@hotmail.com Manon, Orado, etc. Denton, never leave home without it.

Specificly, how Mia reacted to a scan. The other items we already know about; but we were not allowed to see how Mia reacted to the scan. And we do not know enough about her to guess what this might mean. Thanks Luc "Ponderable" French |

Maybe I should have had said: In gross we have more data. He does hold some that we do not, but overall we still have many more data points than he has. >Specificly, how Mia reacted to a scan. The other items we already know >about; but we were not allowed to see how Mia reacted to the scan. And >we do not know enough about her to guess what this might mean.
A good point, but I fail to see how it effects the whole. RT's scan of Mia is going to depend a lot on Mia...who didn't seem tramatized by the events at hand. Rather calm really. I think Mia is really going to be used as RT's tool against John Trussel. Now viewers, please note that RT didn't appear to make the connection between Mia and Truss during their little show down. Bets on when he will? yours, t. Trigger Argee trigger_argee@hotmail.com Manon, Orado, etc. Denton, never leave home without it.

>1. Liza isn't a telepath (that's stated point blunt), but the Psi >Corps was intent on forcibly recruiting her. Why? I retract my earlier statement about believing her a telepath; while I'm certain Tremayne will lie whenever it suits him, I don't think he'd lie about that. But I do believe that she's got some kind of psi talent, which would explain why she had a headache the night of the Spring Formal. And since human psis are almost universally teeps, a human psi possessed of some other ability would be of great interest to the Psi Corps, enough that they'd risk the political repercussions attempting the forcible recruiting of a Zeta Cygnan could entail. -- Sean -- http://www.thebrokenlink.org The Broken Link 4.0 is live!
