   Which were most likely inspired by those same feghoots, if you think about it, given how half the rest of the Callahan stories were homages to various tropes from the pulps.

(Though to my shame, it took me -years- to 'get' the one about Yule Gibbons eating only fruits and nuts...it didn't help I'd never heard of this guy at the time I read the story.)
