LAST EDITED ON Apr-25-13 AT 10:46 PM (EDT) >So, are biotics a variant of psionics/the force/sorcery or any of the >other known paranormal powers? Or are you treating them as their own >thing? It's a psionic discipline - basically telekinesis with a different user interface. Also the catchall name for what early (i.e., 23rd-century) human psions could do, albeit not without extensive cybernetic intervention. This is examined in (slightly) more detail in the annotations for Star-Crossed, IIRC. Note that not all characters who were biotic in their Mass Effect incarnations are so in UF. (Most asari in the UF universe, for instance, are Force-sensitives, not psions, though very few follow the Jedi philosophy; they have their own traditions. The old West End Games Star Wars RPG had a name for this, but I can't remember now what it was - "alien Force adept" or some such.) --G. -><- Benjamin D. So, three things to comment on. Jack being in Skyrim is fun and something I'd never have thought of, but it kinda works. Joker being a full-conversion 'borg makes so goddamn much sense I kick myself for not seeing it coming. And this? This made me laugh out loud for a minute straight. > From: "Urdnot Wrex" <wrex!urdnot.tuchanka> > Subject: Re: ping > To: "Virginia Shepard" <shepard!surprise.hv.euph> > Date: Sun Aug 6 2406 11:31:24 -0400 GST > > > Wrex. > > Shepard. > > - Wx ----- "V, did you do something foolish?" >I apologize if it happened to come across as such. Sorry, I left the smiley off my reply. It was supposed to seem less annoyed and more wryly snarky. Kind of, "Seriously, dude?" Anyway, let us say no more about it. Suffice it to say I've been a bit distracted. There's also been schoolwork, but I didn't have a handy link to throw in for that because I've been so woefully delinquent about my back-to-college blog. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. I should have thought of Tamriel when I saw the Bethesda system, but I didn't. I REALLY like what you've done with Jack, having her as a diciple of the voice and buddy buddy with Parthurnex was priceless. You've got Wrex down cold. I could hear his voice even with the new dialoge. In fact I could say the same with all of the characters from ME. Huh, I never expected 03F8 to show up again. Kinda cool though. How was it trying to write Mordin's dialogue? It was fantastic IMO by the way. |

>I REALLY like what you've done with Jack, having her as >a diciple of the voice and buddy buddy with Parthurnex was priceless. I had a great time doing Jack's where-are-they-now design. It started with the notion that, if she wasn't a supporting character in Shepard's game, she'd easily be the protagonist of her own. The other main spoke to that wheel was the thought that a Jack with some more maturity, some more connection, and some more years of stuff not going horribly wrong all the time would stand a good chance of evolving into a more contented and directed bringer of mayhem - but she'll never not be bringing mayhem to someone, because that wouldn't be Jack. :) > How was it trying to write Mordin's dialogue? It was fantastic IMO >by the way. I love Mordin. On a good day his voice is the easiest of all the ME characters' for me. I occasionally find myself dashing off hasty emails to professors from the field in a very similar telegraphic style, which leads me to suspect that Mordin is basically composing all of his verbal utterances as if he had to key them in on an Android smartphone. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. Still enjoying this immensely. Will Jack be inventing new Shouts using draconic vulgarities? It seems like something she'd do. Also, did Jack take up playing bass after they declined to use her alleged poetry for the lyrics? :) "Mathematics brought rigor to economics. LAST EDITED ON May-07-13 AT 01:57 PM (EDT) Not expecting an answer, the following question is largely rhetorical. I just finished re-reading Cybertron Reloaded, which made MUCH more sense now that I actually have the ME 1 & 2 context for the Geth. Couple that with the Geth/Unicron context from Holiday in the Sun and I start to wonder what if any crossover there is between the Collector's ongoing mischief and the events on Cybertron 18-24 months later (bah, 6 years later; brain was thinking vaguely of the timing of Weapon of Choice for some damn reason). The question also becomes whether or not there is a segment of Geth not kowtowing to Unicron. Not to mention what might evolve from the melding of non-aligned Geth and the introduction of a Transformer's Spark. Stay tuned to your regularly scheduled S11 to likely not see these questions answered. :) Brian

>Not expecting an answer, the following question is largely rhetorical. I'm glad of that, since really, if I was going to just answer questions of that kind, what would be the point in actually writing the stories? It's a lot of work, you know. Just telling people what would've happened if I could've been arsed is a lot simpler. I could've been done with Symphony No. 5 AGES ago. :) That said, excellent questions, and it's good to see people are thinking about this stuff. --G. -><- Benjamin D. I mean, I do intend to reveal these things eventually, that's the whole point. It's just that there's a particular way to do it. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D.
