"Annotations: NXE 1:4"

[316] DJ's exaggerating slightly for comedic purposes. At this point he actually stands around 5'1", which is roughly 1.55 meters.

[326] Something of a Rei meta-anthem, if you think about it - especially at the time, when she was at the height of her popularity and had much more than her share of Rather Scary Fans.

[331] Not a real store, but the location is appropriate. That part of West Boylston Street is a hub of package stores, gas stations, used car dealerships, and such-like lower-echelon businesses, though within a mile or two it moves back upscale a bit.

[373] Old-timey gamers may recognize Corley as the brand of motorcycles featured in the old LucasArts game Full Throttle. In the Symphony of the Sword series, Kyouichi Saionji has a Corley Twin Titan, a larger model than the Twin Atlas, equipped with a sidecar.

[415] As seen in the original Tomb Raider game.

[513] The first real crack in the facade, not that many people noticed; those who had decided they were going to hate DJ were pretty well committed to the idea by now.

[552] This recipe would turn up later on as "Lasagne Valiant" over in the Symphony of the Sword series.

[839] Of course, in Neon Genesis Evangelion, it turns out "N2" stands for "Non-Nuclear" and refers to whacking great conventional bombs, but I didn't know that at the time; I though it meant something like "nuclear, next generation" and denoted a low fallout yield. So in NXE, that is what it means.

[869] It's entirely possible that there won't be a recognizable Titanic bow wreck in 2013, but what's science fiction without the odd bit of poetic license?
