"Warrick bowing out"

Not sure if Gryph is following the current CSI season, but with Warrick being written out, might we see something similar (albeit with more style) in CSI:NA?

It doesn't strike me as all that likely, but what do I know? I wasn't planning on doing a CSI series in the first place.

Either way, one of the fortunate things about working in the UF universe is that (for example) Warrick Brown's continued existence does not hinge on Gary Dourdan's continued employability.

I'd be more concerned about Morpheus taking over the crime lab for a while or something myself

It could be argued that neither of the Windu brothers has the temperament for serious investigative work. The Force isn't admissible in court.

Very possibly. It is literally true. In most jurisdictions, "I felt a disturbance in the Force" does not constitute probable cause, which can make admissibility of evidence real sticky.

As a general- but not hard- rule, most of the staff stopped watching and directly sourcing the Vegas show sometime around season 5. Given the way that UF tends to dovetail characters away from their source over time, using the show in it's current state isn't really a good meter for their New Avalon counterparts.

Not to say, of course, that items from later on won't pop up from time to time, but. :)

Oh, also, I don't want to kill Warrick. So. :)

Well UF Nick did get killed (sorta). I tend to enjoy the UF stories that are sourced from the original but crossed over or sent on their own tangent, but return back to the source on occasion to keep the feel of the setting and plot pacing.

As it happens, CSI:NA was the first Eyrie work that actually compulsed me to hunt down and watch the tv series. This was because after reading the 1st two stories (excellent read BTW) and seeing a Eyrie modified cast photos, I really got the impression I was missing much of the pre-existing character development.
