"Sneaky continuity! :)"
|
I happened to be re-reading Lensman 2-in-1: Heartbreaker/Thankless:
"Yup. One year since you got caught, bub, and your life started all over again." Logan offered him one of his cigars. Though he normally didn't, Geoff took it this time."I never smoke, but hell... one's not gonna kill me." "Oh no you don't," a woman's voice said, and the cigar disappeared from his hand, leaving a stinging sensation behind. Sara Sidle was suddenly standing there with a smile on her face and the cigar in her hand. "I hate the smell of these things," she said.
This scene happens on December 1, 2010. Sara's lab accident occurred in July of that year. So when the story says the cigar "disappeared" and Sara was "suddenly standing there," that's literal, not metaphorical. And there was absolutely no way anyone could have figured it out until Forward Momentum was released. Well played, I say! Well played indeed! --- Rob Madson, a.k.a. >Well played, I say! Well played indeed! Thank you, thank you. Geoff tucked that in there after reading what existed of the Forward Momentum draft at the time (about a third, IIRC). Funnily enough, I hadn't 100% decided to go that route at the time, despite having already written the setup for it - but I figured Geoff's clever little cue was subtle enough that if I didn't, nobody would know the difference. Glad to see I was right. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. Hutchins, Co-Founder, Editor-in-Chief, & Forum Admin Eyrie Productions, Unlimited http://www.eyrie-productions.com/

Well played yourself, Mr. Madson, since Wedge and I are sitting here hitting the "edit" button to behold your CSS-fu on that blockquote. ;) Ard Sumhenner that Janice chick Usual Suspect and general menace |

He did a <blockquote style="background-color: silver"></blockquote>. It's not CSS qua CSS, but it will apply the attribute to the element. Ard Sumhenner that Janice chick Usual Suspect and general menace |
