Akio looked after them for a moment, deeply bemused.  Then he
turned to head the other way - and pulled up sharply as he nearly
collided with an even weirder figure.  He couldn't even tell just what
this one -was-.  It was just a mechanical shape, about five feet high
and roughly cylindrical, with stubby, asymmetrical "arms" jutting from
the front (one apparently a weapon, the other ending in a sucker-
manipulator) and a turretlike head sporting one softly glowing blue
"eye" on a periscope/stalk-like affair at the front.
        Dalek Ambassador Kosh Neranek gazed silently at the Fallen
Prince for a few moments, then spoke.  As always, his voice was a harsh
mechanical grating sound issuing from a speaker grille set on the front
of his armored casing, between his two arms.
        <<YOU DO NOT BE-LONG HERE!>> said Kosh.
        Akio blinked, then summoned his haughtiest look and replied, "I
happen to be an invited guest."
        Kosh's eyestalk swung back and forth, just once, the Dalek
somehow imparting to the gesture an utter finality.  <<YOU ARE THE BLACK
PRINCE!>> he said.  He moved slowly closer, gliding silently over the
ground, and the baleful blank glow of his one green blue seemed to look
right through Akio.
        <<YOU ARE AN E-NE-MY OF THE DA-LEKS!>> Kosh declared.
        Then he moved closer still, until his sucker arm was almost
touching Akio's chest.  The iris of his eye widened to its fullest
extent as he inclined his eyestalk upward to look the Fallen full in the
face and intoned,
        <<YOU WILL BE EX-TER-MI-NA-TED!!>>

... and mayhem ensues.
