"Rogue Squadron: small edits & HD remaster"
|
LAST EDITED ON Aug-05-19 AT 03:23 AM (EDT) The rewrite I did on part of NXE 2:3 the other day, and the discussion of how the plan for a sixth episode of CSINA was overtaken by developments elsewhere, reminded me that the stinger scene on Rogue Squadron #2 was invalidated by TFLF and Taken by Storm, and I'd never gotten around to fixing it. Since I was rewriting it anyway, I decided I might as well remaster the series in HD while I was at it. It's only five shortish episodes, after all.So, I've done that, and you can find them on the series page if you're into it. For reference, the new version of the issue #2 stinger scene takes place a week later than the original cut, on June 18, 2410, which fits it into a small gap between things Kate is shown doing in TFLF and the point at which Corwin and co. head to the South Pole for the Glacier Spirits Festival in Taken. Specifically, it happens in the same weekend as the last part of TFLF #5, "I Believe I'll Dust My Broom". Also, since I was messing with the files anyway, I fixed the bit where I left Isamu's fate at the end of the dogfight in #5 undisclosed. I had originally intended to include him on the recovery truck, having already been picked up, but I forgot. So now he's there. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Also, >Been rereading them, and noticed some tiny glitches. >There’s an extraneous symbol left in the flashback sequence in part >1: an extra > after ‘finally’. Hmm. I couldn't find this one, that bit looks OK on my screen... >And parts 1, 2 and 4 have a few double em dashes where only one is >supposed to be. ... but these are fixed. What actually happened there was that there was supposed to be a paragraph break between them, but the way my script for adding <p> tags works, it didn't pick those up. I'll have to be on the lookout for that now that I know it happens. --G. -><- Benjamin D.
