Maybe she's got something caught in her teeth. >unnecessary buckles! > Not unnecessary, decorative! I'm very amused by the oversized clip and D-ring strap she turned into a hat bow out of either whim or necessity.

Might just be the expression. >"May I have this dance, m'lady?" > I now wonder if the two of them ever did dance in the lonely times, though did they even have a working record player before G crashed into the picture? >oh god > The little known variant of Wall of Force, Wall of Flan. >uh... Remi... I don't think that's how that works (nsfw, kind of) > Well, her hand and finger positioning looks correct. Maybe she's just practicing? Or she's teasing. >"I brought you some blood!" > That's a really nice 'Queen of the Night' outfit, but those murder eyes suggest only those who can teleport stand a chance at escaping. Also, my Remilia, what big wings you have. >more off-the-shoulder is more good > I'm amazed at how pretty this artist's work is, though they seem to have decided all eyes are windows into another galaxy at this point. >infiltrating a girls' middle school > Funny enough, it doesn't look that remarkably different from Flandre's usual style. Though the hats having built in cat ears is an interesting choice for the uniform designer. >the Marisa equivalent of Sakura Miku > For some reason I feel like getting Marisa to wear that much pink and that many floral decorations could only occur as the result of several lost bets.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-16-21 AT 09:52 PM (EDT) >>no actual fashion in this one, >>just a rather lovely Flan >> >Is it me, or does she somehow look older in that pic? Might just be >the expression. That's about how old she looks in my head, but a lot of artists do tend to depict her as much younger(-seeming) than she is in UF. I think the expression does go a long way, as well. >>"May I have this dance, m'lady?" >> > >I now wonder if the two of them ever did dance in the lonely times, I expect so. If nothing else, it's too poignant an image not to want it to have happened. (... That was a sentence.) >though did they even have a working record player before G crashed >into the picture? There are a few awkward anachronisms that made their way into TTW, and one of them is the phonograph that features prominently in several scenes. The tone of the narration implies that it's not Gryphon's--that it was there before he arrived, and he only brought the more modern records with him--but since Sakuya disappeared in 1870 and Remilia very rarely, if ever, ventured off the grouds after that, it can't have been. The phonograph as we know it wasn't invented until 1877, and disc-playing types weren't commercially available before 1892. So unless Sakuya got it from the future on one of her shopping trips (which is conceivable--it's kind of implied that that's where the accordion came from), then no, they wouldn't have had it back then. As errors in TTW go, that's not quite as egregious as the scene that has the full moon making its way UP the windows on the WEST side of the house (wtf, last summer me?), but it's still a bit of a headslapper. Oh well, time bubble, weird shit happens. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. (For that matter, how does Remilia know about anything that happened after 1870 if she never went out? She's seen pictures of early automobiles and knows about the First Neuroi War. I think it was always in the back of my head somewhere that she nipped down to Colmar to pick up newspapers from time to time, but later scenes explicitly contradict that, as in La Grande Rencontre when she clearly hasn't seen Colmar since the 1800s. ... Sigh. Anyway.) >>uh... Remi... I don't think that's how that works (nsfw, kind of) >> > >Well, her hand and finger positioning looks correct. Maybe she's just >practicing? Or she's teasing. Let's go with that. :) >>the Marisa equivalent of Sakura Miku >> > >For some reason I feel like getting Marisa to wear that much pink and >that many floral decorations could only occur as the result of several >lost bets. I dunno, I mean, she's a bit of a tomboy in her mannerisms and speech, but relatively speaking, she's a very girly one, with her long hair, her penchant for apron skirts, and whatnot. You're probably right about the pink, if only because she's so invested in the whole black-and-white thing as part of her self-image as a witch, but if the occasion was right... --G. -><- Benjamin D. LAST EDITED ON Apr-22-21 AT 01:07 AM (EDT) >Hourai's in there too, mostly hidden behind the big gun. I could be wrong, but I think that's a grenade launcher. The idea of Hourai trying to handle a grenade launcher makes me happy that she's already breaking the laws of physics, because even recoil "equivalent to a rifle or shotgun" (says the web search) would be a problem for somebody with so little mass otherwise. To be fair, after looking at the picture again, it seems likely that Shanghai is also breaking the laws of physics, because upon review, that rifle doesn't seem to be attached to anything. Green Edition? > These two amuse me because it seems like there was a 'draw Flandre' contest, given the almost identical poses by different artists. >in which Sakuya and rapper-style Flan behave unwisely > All the child post is missing is one of them weakly moaning "worth it". >fancy Reimu > Somehow this makes me think Sakuya got ahold of her and performed a forcible makeover on her wardrobe. Reimu's facial expression supports my head-canon. >miniskirt Marisa with excellent coat > Well, a shorter skirt is more suited to a highly active lifestyle. Regarding the coat, I'm surprised her standard design doesn't include a coat or cape to flutter cinematicly behind her already.

>>little black dress, Mk VII > >So how long in a modern setting would it take for Remilia to view that >as a proper dress, rather than the slip to be worn underneath one? Yeah, I suspect a lot of modern fashion would have her subconsciously feeling like she'd left the house in her underwear for a while. >>Flandre Black Edition >> >>Flandre... Green Edition? >> > >These two amuse me because it seems like there was a 'draw Flandre' >contest, given the almost identical poses by different artists. I think it's the same line art colored by different artists. Possibly a promotional thing for the Lost Word mobile game, since I see they've tagged that specific copyright. >>fancy Reimu >> > >Somehow this makes me think Sakuya got ahold of her and performed a >forcible makeover on her wardrobe. Reimu's facial expression supports >my head-canon. MARISA C'mon, Reimu. The Nobel Peace Prize is personally awarded by the King of Norseland. You can't just show up to receive it in the same rags you always wear. REIMU Rags?! This is my uniform! It's been the traditional garb of the miko of Hakurei since time immemorial. MARISA But it's not even your best set! It's all patched and mended. You're gonna look like a hobo. REIMU (annoyed) You're the last person I want to hear that from. MARISA I can see you're not gonna listen to reason here. REIMU Oh, were you being reasonable? I must have missed that. MARISA (snaps fingers) Sakuya? REIMU's clothes suddenly change. REIMU Wha--? MARISA Thank you. SAKUYA Not at all. More cake? >>miniskirt Marisa with excellent coat >> > >Well, a shorter skirt is more suited to a highly active >lifestyle. Regarding the coat, I'm surprised her standard design >doesn't include a coat or cape to flutter cinematicly behind her >already. Sometimes she's depicted with a dramatic aviator scarf. (Occasionally even hatband goggles, which, I've no idea how they'd work with a hat brim as broad as hers, but they look cool.) --G. -><- Benjamin D. Not fashion, as such, but this instantly made me think of the scene in which G first ventures into Flandre's lair, back in TTW 3. --G. "Oh, monsieur, you truly are a fool. LAST EDITED ON Jul-11-21 AT 08:48 PM (EDT) >Not technically fashion, but I suspect that Remilia would have Words to Say if this happened here. >After she stops sputtering of course. Heh. Doubly so because in UF, she and Reimu barely know each other (as opposed to Touhou works set after EoSD, in which they can be portrayed as anything from arch-rivals to old pals to a couple). They're actually kind of cute together, but if G came out and said that he'd get swatted up the back of the head. Possibly by three different hands. :) --G. also, I love that danbooru has a tag for "pringle duck" -><- Benjamin D. >I'm tempted to find out, but I think it would be tricky. Almost all >Touhou characters are heavily flanderized by the fandom, but Cirno >kind of came from the factory that way... She suffers from flanderization* as well. Fans took the "Easy" variant of one spell card ("Icicle Fall") having a blind spot directly in front of her and ran with it. Canon Cirno is actually pretty smart and strong...for a fairy. She's one of the few that can read and is strong enough that both a Yama and a Sage have commented she could be a real threat if she weren't such a ditz. *As opposed to "flandreization, which involves a "kyu" and things going "BOOM!"
