5. "RE: Super Robot Wars 30"

LAST EDITED ON Jul-16-21 AT 01:12 PM (EDT) All SRW games feature a core of Go Nagai and Bandai shows, something from the 1970s like Zambot and Daitarn, and a mix of newer shows including some which are not robot shows at all like Yamato 2199 and Captain Harlock. And they haven't sold a main line SRW game in North America since OG 1 and 2 on Gameboy Advance and that was all originals. Also, if I'm not mistaken, T was never released on Steam (X and V were). NA players needed to import PS4 or Switch editions of the game. Switch is not region locked but PS4 is. Taken together, the NA player base for T is relatively quite small. So yeah, I don't think T was any kind of market test at all. I think Bandai and Banpresto see a sufficient demand and they picked a list of shows that would be easy for a NA release. Note for example the lack of Gainax properties which were prominent in V, X and T (Evangelion, Nadia, Gunbuster).
