>The Burden Of Command, according to the boss! > >Looks like another lovely Moy commission. Thank you, sirs! Indeed, although my brain took one look at the glasses and triggered a line from a totally different series of fanfiction about a mad Imperial Star Destroyer captain who looks silly with a pupil-scanner monocle. Of course, I don't know anyone who looks dignified wearing one of those. Back on topic, its a wonderful piece so far and I look forward to seeing where it goes from here with ink and colors. My only problem, and it is very slight, is that Utena's right hand looks just a little clawlike, probably because some of the fingers seem just a hair too short compared to the first one. This might be a perspective issue where I'm not looking at it correctly, but right now it just bugs me. Navigare Necesse Est-'Get me out of here!' Group Captain Konstantin Vehrec |

Cute! Must be very frustrating, having to delay sex (or even just delay sleepy-cuddle-time), because the forms have to be filed by the start of work, tomorrow. They planned their campaigns just as you might make a splendid piece of harness. It looks very well; and answers very well; until it gets broken; and then you are done for. Now I made my campaigns of ropes. If anything went wrong, I tied a knot; and went on. -- Arthur Wellesley, First Duke of Wellington |

I mean, if it's just a follow-up report to the Chief about some random bullshit like a fight with pirates, pff, that crap can wait. On the other hand, if it's something important, like an order for more pasta sauce, well, a girl's got to have her priorities. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Phil Moy was actually pretty good about this one. In his usual way, he asked me several questions, just to make sure: Me: "Since it's almost bedtime, you could probably have the jacket unbuttoned." Phil Moy: "Is she wearing anything underneath?" Me: "A red t-shirt." PM: "Is it cold in the room?" Me: "It's their bedroom. I don't think that they'd keep it cold." PM: "Well, you never know..." *sigh* The things I put up with to get good artwork. :-) --Doc |

LAST EDITED ON Jun-11-09 AT 09:19 PM (EDT) Just for accuracy's sake, for future reference, when Utena's wearing her old Ohtori Academy jacket, generally the only thing she's wearing underneath it is a grey sports bra. The red shirt is part of the IPSF uniform, and it's not a T-shirt, it's one'a them Star Trek II-style mock turtleneck deals. It's a little odd that she'd be wearing her old school uniform aboard ship, especially with the epaulets on and a rose in the top pocket, but maybe she feels as if she's dueling with the paperwork. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. >>>It's a little odd that she'd be wearing her old school uniform aboard >>>ship, especially with the epaulets on and a rose in the top pocket, >>>but maybe she feels as if she's dueling with the paperwork. :) >>> >>FOR THE REVOLUTION OF THE FLEET! *play rimshot.mp3* > >I like to think that every time that or something like it gets said in >jest, whoever's helming Valiant does a barrel roll. I second this motion. Just for the laughs at the sheer timing randomness. Like say whoever is the new Norse God of tricks (since Loki got a serious case of perma-death) is just having fun with the crew. "Sorry Utena. I had to avoid an asteroid that our sensors didn't spot until we were almost on top of it. Yes, I didn't -need- to do a full loop, but I'm kind of missing the Swordfish at the moment." (random guess as to who's visiting the helm) "Sorry Lady Utena, but when we exited warp there was a Hutt Freighter sitting out here where it's not supposed to, and with light jamming active, and I had to evade. Shall I reverse course to bring us alongside for inspection?" "Pardon the maneuver's Ma'am but, hold on. Engage that cruiser! Ma'am it looks like we've finally found that Big Fire propaganda ship and its not a EW hull like intel thought but a full up Missile Cruiser. I need you on the bridge." "What the hells? Engineering, I briefly lost control of my lateral thrusters." *mumbling over the ship's com* "Oh so that was what was causing the power surges? I'll re-route around it." etc, etc. Each time, preceded by said barrel roll, preceeded by saying that phrase whether in jest, all seriousness (possibly referring to a different/corrupt fleet), or someone else that doesn't know the 'curse' behind that word.
