"RE: NF Characters"
|
NHO added something to the "NF Characters I Want to See" thread to which I want to reply, but that one is getting dangerously long. > And the lack of Nova in Cephiro sections saddens me, too. I read this, and all I can think of is Elegant Nova of Progression from Keychain of Creation. While that Nova is hilarious and awesome, I can't help but feel that she (and other Alchemical Exalted) wouldn't really add anything to UF that would make it worth writing them in. |

No, not that Nova. http://imgur.com/a/4jI7H This Nova. From second season of MKR. Who's better part of the plot, in my opinion.
She was designed by same person who created Iczer. And she's a study of what happen, when, in the land of will, someone is sad and hates herself so much that a number of emotions was thrown out, given desire to merge back, embodied, left to wander magical apocalypse in the progress and then adopted by embodiment of despair of entire realm. Tragic, impressive, bipolar, looking for happiness... I can rant and rant. And what's why I am sad. In good hands, she could be great character to help drive a story. But instead, second season of MKR doesn't happen with all it's bad and slow and generally unpleasant bits, and that took good bits, too. EPU incorporated some elements, but only some. |

At this remove, I can no longer remember if I actually saw Rayearth 2. I'm not sure I did, y'know. --G. -><- Benjamin D. I told you how it ended when you asked, because you were so cranky about the ending, and you said, "Heck with THAT!"

Given New Avalon's policies, I'd like to see Erma and her family moving in. My best guess is that Erma is the daughter of Sadako (from the film Ring.) Precisely how a ghost has a daughter with a living human and proceeds to life in suburbia is beyond me, but having this happy family show up would be interesting. I'm not sure it would fit the New Frontier era, but that's a different problem. Peter Eng -- Insert humorous comment here. |

Having rewatched it recently, I'd like to throw in a vote for the main cast of No Offence, a brilliant police procedural by the creator of Shameless. It's largely a character piece concerning three female detectives: DI Viv Deerling, a woman of absolute steel; DC Dinah Kowalska, a talented and good-hearted detective; and DS Joy Freers, an amazingly gifted detective who hides her light under a bushel and herself behind a dowdy haircut and mousy disposition. There's a season-long plot concerning the murder of girls with Down's Syndrome, and it's pretty harrowing in places, but Viv and the detectives are absolutely amazing. A trailer may be found on YouTube here, as may the rest of the series if you're donning the old shoulder parrot. --- "She's old, she's lame, she's barren too, // "She's not worth feed or hay, // "But I'll give her this," - he blew smoke at me - // "She was something in her day." -- Garnet Rogers, Small Victory FiMFiction.net: we might accept blatant porn involving the cast of My Little Pony but as God is my witness we have standards. LAST EDITED ON Nov-13-16 AT 10:03 PM (EST) I forget if I already suggested the Libra organization from Kekkai Sensen, a.k.a. Blood Blockade Battlefront.I'm not sure if it is 100% compatible with UF, but I rather enjoyed it. It's very much something I would try to craft myself, were I still actively writing. ETA: Oh, and you might want to consider the MCU Doctor Strange. With the exception of a certain amount of wibbly wobbly in the last act, the power level is surprisingly coherent with how you've treated magic so far. Mario |
