"The Art of Noise in concert, 2012.10.03"
|
LAST EDITED ON Oct-05-12 AT 03:48 PM (EDT) >It is from the same cloth as the Macarena. A cheery little tune, a >dance that anyone can (attempt to) emulate, and lyrics that are >completely unintelligible except for one phrase. Apart from the part about the dance, that has a much longer and more honorable heritage. Heck, thanks to the unique and creative usage, these lyrics don't make a ton of sense in English or German. (I'm particularly fond of "Er war so exaltiert because er hatte Flair.") The Art of Noise's preferred way of covering this involves a frilly shirt and periwig for Moose, black tie for Miki, and post-syncope stimulants for most of the girls (and, statistically, 10% of the guys) in the front row.
Ooh! Rock me Amadeus Ooh! Rock me Amadeus Rock me Amadeus rock rock rock me Amadeus rock me all the time to the top Er war ein Punker und er liebt in der großen Stadt Es war Wien, war Vienna wo er alles tat Er hatte Schulden denn er trank, doch ihn liebten alle Frauen Und jede rief: Come on and rock me Amadeus Er war Superstar, er war populär Er war so exaltiert because er hatte Flair Er war ein Virtuose, war ein Rockidol Und alles rief: Come on and rock me Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus Es war um 1780 und es war in Wien No plastic money any more, die Banken gegen ihn Woher die Schulden kamen war wohl jedermann bekannt Er war ein Mann der Frauen, Frauen liebten seinen Punk Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus Come and rock me Amadeus Baby baby do it to me rock me Baby baby do it to me rock me Baby baby do it to me rock me Ja ja ja Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus - Falco (1957-1998) "Rock Me Amadeus" Falco 3 (1985) |

>>2412.10.03 >:) I'm very happy to see 2412 in the SOS forum. In that case I'm sad to tell you it's a typo. That was meant to be the real-world date of posting, 2012.10.03. Mind you, it's likely the Symphony cast will still exist in October of 2412, but this post wasn't meant to confirm or deny that. >>Frauen liebten seinen Punk >Wait, why did the women love punk targeted at the young adult male >demographic in Japan? 17th-century Austrians. >>2412.10.03 >:) I'm very happy to see 2412 in the SOS forum. > >>(and, statistically, 10% of the guys) >I would have thought that this number would be much higher, given the >kind of people who gather around Utena. > >>Frauen liebten seinen Punk >Wait, why did the women love punk targeted at the young adult male >demographic in Japan? 'Sein' - pronounced 'Zine' - shows up serving double duty as a couple of different German pronouns... Second person plural and second person formal singular, I think. -en, in this case, is Some Damn Conjugation Or Other, this issue being why I gave up on learning German. I admit that your way's funnier, though. |
