I'm sure there are, but nothing springs to mind right at the moment. Usually it's not a question of finding a fit so much as not having the time/bandwidth to make the appropriate storyline happen. There are a great many characters and/or situations I assume are out there in the UF universe somewhere, but have never had occasion to show on screen.

Nobody you know.

   Question calculated to annoy Uum'y:

Is it true that Hyeruulian warriors ritually devour the hearts of their enemies to gain strength? ^.^

I do not believe that to be the case, but I defer final judgment on the matter to our resident professor of Hyelian studies, PCHammer.

Oh, now that's just silly. Of course not!

They do that just for the taste of it.

To pose a more serious question, how does being One With The Force interact with the Asgardian afterlife? Can dead Jedi go visit Valhalla?

Are you still reading and enjoying Blue Beetle? Would you recommend it?

No, but that has nothing to do with the quality or lack thereof. Comics are, for the moment at least, not on my list of things I can afford to bother with.

While rereading Symphony I've two quick (amd pretty inconsequential) questions.

1. Have we seen onscreen any of the 12 independent systems whose governments fell after Zoner's Usenet post?

2. Was Picard ever convinced to take the Test of Light after Day of Infamy?

Many thanks. :)

Which of the starfighters (or atmospheric fighters) in the WDF does Gryphon consider his favorite?

Is there a starfighter that he dislikes?

What would be consider the toughest adversary starfighters that are currently in the UF universe?

   >Which of the starfighters (or atmospheric fighters) in the WDF does
>Gryphon consider his favorite?

Of the current (ca. January 2410) front-line WDF fighters, the best of the lot in his opinion is probably the VF-11 Thunderbolt, but he hasn't got a lot of time in any of the types that were introduced after he retired from the WDF, so that's not what he would call a really expert opinion. On the fixed-config side of the fence,

Naturally, his favorite fighter of all time remains the VF-1. If he had the time and energy to spare, he would almost certainly have put together a team at the IPO Yards to develop a modernization program that would bring the VF-1 back up to front-line spec and make it competitive with the VF-11 and the next-generation Veritech fighters currently being tested. Alas, he's too busy just now, so the "New Century Valkyrie" will have to remain an enthusiast's dream for the moment.

>Is there a starfighter that he dislikes?

Oh, quite a few, I expect. Back in the Golden Age, he had a special antipathy for ExoSalusia's second-generation Rapier fighters, because they took what had been an outstanding space superiority fighter and gave the new model, for no really explicable reason, the worst cockpit visibility in the industry. He's never been too enamored of GENOM's TIE series either, though the TIE Avenger impressed him enough to become the weapon of choice for the IPO's Babylon Station defense squadron in spite of its less distinguished antecedents.

Of the current generation of fightercraft out there, he doesn't care much for the Starfury's handling characteristics, and the RZ-8 Stinger (AKA "A-Wing") strikes him as fragile and overly twitchy (though the build quality, it has to be said, is excellent). There again, he's not really a current starfighter pilot, so those are mostly impressions gained from a few hours of "courtesy" seat time stolen at odd moments over the last few years.

Worst fighter of all time? The Kilrathi Salthi, hands down. It's cramped, uncomfortable, unreliable, underpowered, undergunned, and wretchedly flimsy, but never mind all that - what's always really amazed him about the Salthi, and not in a good way, is that it can only turn left! Who thought that was a good idea?
