"Cybertron Dreams"
|
Seeing as this story happens a bit less than 7 years from where SoS currently stands, I was wondering if there was any "official" opinion on how Cybertron Dreams is to be regarded these days. Is it one of those stories considered by the authors best to be ignored, or is it still perfectly (or imperfectly) within the UF canon? I ask because it appears to contain a few inconsistencies in the UF universe as I understand it to be currently constructed (understandable, since Dreams was written in 1993). For example, there are references to Wedge Defense Force Admiral Benjamin D. "Gryphon" Hutchins (running the Strategic Fleet and captain of the Concordia), WDF Fleet Admiral MegaZone, and Trouble Consultants First Class Kei Morgan and Yuri Daniels, all in the present tense as if they are in those positions in 2412. But I thought none of them were members of those organizations as of 2405 (or earlier), and were all involved with the IPO in some way or another. Do they go back to their old jobs at some future time? Is Major General Patricia M. "Terror" Currier still Commander-in-Chief of WDF Fighter Command and leader of the Eight-Balls? Regards, Jeanne

Imperfectly - the references you point out are all now inaccurate, thanks to the latter-day invention of the IPO and such-like aftereffects of the events of Twilight. One day, in my copious free time, perhaps I will Stalinize it. However, the basic gist of the events related remains intact - Unicron's return, Megatron's return, the Decepticon Reformation, and so forth. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Basically it happens as is - the shift in employment of the characters mentioned is minor. I guess you could at (ret.) after Gryphon's and MegaZone's titles. Anything they lack the authority to do due to their shift is probably now either just calling in favors, or bringing it to the attention of Daver, et al. -MegaZone, megazone@megazone.org Personal Homepage http://www.megazone.org/ Eyrie Productions FanFic http://www.eyrie-productions.com/ eBay listings - updated 12/09/01 |
