(ASAMI sits at her desk, next to the giant model of the SATO EXPO grounds. She's visibly tired and annoyed, possibly because it's taken all night to film this stupid promo reel for the Expo. She takes a sip from a highball glass, puts it down, sighs, and turns wearily to the camera.)

ASAMI
And so from all of us here at Future Industries, I would like to personally show you...

(She hesitates.)

... my ass.

(She rises from her chair and begins to do just that.)

KORRA
(off camera)
Woooo! Work it, girl!

(The film cuts off with a couple of lab processing frames and begins to flap on the projector's uptake reel.)

That thread was depressing. And hilarious. Both at the same time! Is there a word for that? It seems like the Germans would have come up with a word for that. Do you just... keep that link around? Use it when you need a good laugh?

I have only one thing to say, in response to the Ben who existed eleven years ago saying this:

Well, uh, you've had a lot of patience with me, and despite my primary field of endeavor being tech-related, I have an honest-to-god English degree.

But fifteen or so years ago you'd have been unfortunate enough to encounter members of the Academy who were coming down from a SERIOUS bender on post-modernism and being real assholes about it; that particular school of thought produced one useful tool (deconstruction) and then wandered off into the hills to howl at the moon. Jacques Derrida destroyed an entire generations ability to think objectively about things and took a real good swing at undermining the Enlightenment while he was doing it.

Anyway, in honor of that link, I'm going to go on tumblr and be amused by people arguing heatedly over whether the new red-haired girl in tonight's episode of Legend of Korra is white or not, and then imma go to bed. Cheers.

I like Corwin's face - first look at him with the beard and it does show more family resemblance to his dad.

Given the angle of the roof though, I can't help imagining that Korra's about to roll forwards and keep rolling until she goes off the edge. Maybe it just looks steeper than it really is.

It isn't quite as steep as it looks, and although it's hard to tell from this angle, the roof is also slightly concave (it ramps upward a little at the edge). Also, that might be part of the reason why Corwin's left arm is where it is. :)

Thank you, thank you *bows*. I have to say, the past few months have been revitalizing for my art. After about a year+ of not drawing anything at all, now I've done 7 drawings in a month and a half. I guess when inspiration finally hits, you've just gotta answer it.

... now I just need to -color- everything. blaaaah... -.-;
