But is that tent at least pretty painted?

Very cute, as usual. And so, wild adventures of Tea Time Club in Big Universe begin.

The Ornate one presumably is; Shabby and Common, not so much. (There's probably a tier above Ornate, too—Elite or some such. :)

No, no. Yui's Mom and Dad's tent.

Pretty paintings and embroidings and forgot the name, imprintings? Usage of chisel to make patterns on leather. Yes, that, on Ornate is presumed to be in place, Elite obviously adds gold and even more floor padding.

And now I found the source of confusion. Is Yui's Mom and Dad's yurt an Ornate Tent?

Embossing? (Or possibly tooling?)

It's probably pretty spartan—Air Nomads are into the whole Simplicity thing—but elegant.

It's going to be a shock on both sides, although I suspect New Avalon will be slightly better prepared, having had an Avatar visit a few years back.

Despite the song in the episode being Mark Knopfler, the title has put Frankie Goes To Hollywood in my head.

That is not entirely coincidental.

Also,

Elder Days Story Time

INT. NIGHT. An apartment in Worcester, one evening in the summer of 1997. GRYPHON has just moved back east from the shambles that was his California experiment and is camped out in the spare room at JER and ANDREW'S place for a while. This particular evening, he's in there gweeping when JER walks in.

JER
Hey Gryph. You want some cheesy poufs?

GRYPHON
(puzzled)
Uh... yes, Jer. I would love some cheesy poufs.

JER
Here you go.

JER hands GRYPHON a CD copy of Welcome to the Pleasuredome, then slopes back out without another word.

As ever, TFLF continues to be pure adorable gold. Having seen the show, I'm really enjoying how the characters are clearly learning and growing in all facets; without losing any of the parts that make the cast such a joy to watch (read).

This will, I feel, continue to lead to excellence :)

I'm still greatly enjoying this series, and I've started to go back and reread again.

But alas, my attempts to Google 'Bellesarius' Law' have come to naught, with or without the spelling change Google thinks I need.

Don't feel too bad, V. It comes from Quantum Leap and can best be paraphrased as:
DON"T INVESTIGATE THIS TO CLOSELY

It's "Bellisario's Law," named after Donald Bellisario, creator of "Quantum Leap" - as mentioned - and other TV shows. "Bellisarius" was/is the name of his production company. I believe the "law" was born when he answered a wide variety of nitpicky questions about "Quantum Leap" with something like: "Don't think about it too hard. It's just a TV show."

Rereading, the following leapt out at me (emphasis added):
>>Azusa's eyes didn't need a lot of ambient light to pick up general details these days.

Is the influence of Azusa's cat-spirit heritage growing stronger over time? If so, is that normal for people with spirits for recent ancestors?

Oh hey, I was hoping someone would notice that. Yes, it appears to be.

It's not universal, but not unheard-of either. The spirit-kin phenomenon takes a lot of different forms (much like the spirits themselves).

*Sigh* I'm conflicted Gryph. Its your story, and yes, these audio narrations started as an experiment.

And yet I want to say oh no, you should be changing your inflections to x at point Y.... EVEN THOUGH YOUR THE ONE WHO WROTE IT AND SHOULD KNOW BETTER.

*mrgle*

I mean, I'd crawl off in shame, but...

bah. It's your story to tell, RL-G, inflections and all. If you *DO* want to know more, the PM here works.
