"Winter Storm Nemo"
 
   (I think it's silly for TWC to have started naming winter storms, but it does make it easier for people to know which storm you're talking about)

Hoping everyone living in the northeast, and especially New England, stay safe and indoors. Getting stuck outside in a blizzard is no fun - we don't want anyone to have to go finding you in Nemo.

   for the record, i estimate that i got 28 inches in my driveway... i cleared 14ish inches last night, and another 14 or so this morning. thankfully, i am not on the south shore where entire towns *cough*quincy*cough* lost power...

at least there are new taun-taun memes floating around to entertain me while i dig out :)

   I should have asked people to take photos of their locality before the plows got in, especially if you could get a shot without much development in it, then I could have made postcards and posters like:

"A Balmy Summer Day On Ice Planet Halloran V! Come Visit!"

   I'm in Pittsburgh, which seems to be reliably about one state too far south for all of the really epic winter storms this year. I feel oddly disappointed. (I was living out west until very recently, so I'm not used to winter and it's still fun. Except the time I had to drive up a snowy hill with the wrong tires.)

What's really annoying is that they've bought Weather Underground, so now they have to do it too. Ugh.
