"This Could Lead to Excellence..."

... no, I take that back, I'm pretty sure serious injury is the only real option here.

Phil pointed out earlier that there is, in fact, a baseball video game featuring characters from various Nickelodeon cartoons. This includes Avatar: The Last Airbender, which, fair enough...

... except one of the available players from that show is Toph Beifong.

Who... well. She's awesome, but let's face it, it's hard to picture her succeeding at baseball, given that one of her key weaknesses is "flying things". I mean, the outfield would definitely not be the place for her.

CRACK

"I got it! I got it!"

BONK

"OW! Why did you believe me?! Blind!"

She's probably got a pretty good arm, but as a pitcher she'd make Ricky Vaughn from Major League seem like a precision instrument.

Although, come to think of it, most of Harry Doyle's dialogue from Vaughn's debut scene would work for her.

"Beifong, a juvenile delinquent in the offseason, in her major league debut. Into the windup... "

CRASH

"Juuuuust a bit outside!"

And as a batter, there's a particular sort of offensive play that broadcasters often refer to as a "seeing-eye single". But at least she'd never strike out looking.

I'm gonna argue with this due to my endless love of both trivia and arguin'.

Toph would of course be a shitty fielder and utterly useless at the plate, but she'd probably be hell on wheels on the mound. She's actually GOOD at hurling things through the air to hit a target; remember "Load the Toph!" from the season three opener? She puts giant hunks of rock into a target she -can't see- (and in one case, can't even sense) with pinpoint accuracy from considerably further than the regulation 60.5 feet.

That said, despite the fact that she could probably put the ball into the glove no problem, I can totally see her playing the "I'm blind, you idiots!" card just in order to continue throwing baseballs at whatever and whoever she wanted. :)

I think the dude standing behind her was aiming, but you may be right. I'm still going to enjoy my Major League image mashup, though.
