"Sky's origins"
|
I'm loving Symphony of the Rose, particularly the latest episodes, but I had two points of confusion -- if anyone can answer these questions it would make a simple man very, very happy: * What species is T'skaia Vorokoshiga'ar Ixtixtaaqitl't'chl'Vraihelt Ishkarat? And does he or his species have an extra-UF existence? * I thought -- perhaps naively -- that Edward was male... indeed I thought that other characters in SotR had *referred* to Edward as being male... yet here (s)he is referred to specifically as being female. Was I just confused? Or were you purposefully muddying the waters, o Great Continuity Editor Gryphon? Thanks in advance -- K.R.N. |

Blame her parents for giving her that name. :) Patrick Chester "...could you and your associates arrange that for me, Mr. Morden?" |

>* What species is T'skaia Vorokoshiga'ar Ixtixtaaqitl't'chl'Vraihelt >Ishkarat? >And does he or his species have an extra-UF existence? This has been answered in a different thread - in fact, the first question is answered in the story itself. T'skaia is a t'skrang. Outside of UF, the t'skrang are one of the playable races in the ex-FASA role-playing game Earthdawn, which has been picked up by Living Room Games. For a visual reference, LRG has the cover of Earthdawn Second Edition on their website. The green guy with the arrow in the middle is a t'skrang, though he isn't the same color as Sky, who is kind of a propane-flame blue with an orange-red sunset crest on the back of his head. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Thank you for answering the question, Gryph. In expansion, the t'skrang are a species of 'Name-givers' (the Earthdawn term for sentients) that are distantly related to Dragons. They are semi-aquatic by nature, living in partially sunken cities and towns in the Serpent River, the major waterway of Barsaive, the game setting. T'skrang are flashy, extravagant, and well-known for their swashbuckling nature. "Jik'harra," mentioned by Sky in the SotS4 is the t'skrang word for "fearlessness" and is one of the four pillars of "haropas" or enlightenment. The other three are passion, preparedness, and balance. >For a visual reference, LRG has the cover of Earthdawn Second >Edition on their website. The green guy with the arrow in the >middle is a t'skrang, though he isn't the same color as Sky, who is >kind of a propane-flame blue with an orange-red sunset crest on the >back of his head. Precisely, although he's a bit toothier than some. T'skrang generally look like bipedeal crocodilians of varying coloration, so their snouts and crests can differ. There are several very Skeksis-looking ones in the original Earthdawn, First Edition rules. Especially the t'skrang nethermancer (read necromancer).
