"World of Warships: bots"

As in the automatic ships you fight against in Co-op Battle mode, not players AFKing their way to fun and profit.

They're smarter than the bots in most arena battle games I can think of that have them; they actually use tactics. They will even, as the Umikaze in the match I just played, try to cap. You would swear you were playing against live opponents sometimes.

As, for instance, when said Umikaze suddenly lost track of what it was doing (head-down in the gunsight view?) and ran into an island. That's right, the bots are so sophisticated they even replicate human players' fits of noobitude. :)

When I play Warships, I have to admit sometimes I forget I'm even in Coop Mode. The AI really -is- damn convincing. I saw a battleship run aground myself just today or yesterday. (And having torpedoes, I couldn't NOT blow it up. =)

I'm working tonight, but sometime those of us that play should get together as a fleet and go to town.

sometimes.. I swear the bots are actually people who work for WG that go into it for fun or something.

I have seen destroyers accidentally torp allies to torp you, they can and WILL attempt to ram you (and even succeed), and they will work together to box you in, then suddenly go "every man for himself" to try and kill you.

It's very.. disturbing at times.

See Comment.

Heh. It's interesting to note that 'noobitude' is seen as a sign that the bots are advanced. Just a couple years ago, bots acting like this would've been a sign that they're really crap, with sub-standard 'pathing' making them run into walls and similar.
This not to say that the bots aren't really good, as I've found myself, they are that good. Just the difference between 'Jeez, these bots are crap' and 'Jeez, these bots are GOOD' with them doing essentially the same thing amused me.

...!

Well, yes, that was sarcasm.
