"'Mech Collection, cont'd"

Marauder dropped this week. Not a bad job of redesigning; it's still recognizable (though it has the usual MechWarrior Online aspect ratio problem, hence the name I gave this one :), but probably won't get them sued. And it's just as terrible at heat management as it always was... --G. -><- Benjamin D. ITSGLANDULAR also fits. Just saying. =] But yeah, is it bad that I am now thinking about whether or not some enterprising soul in the UF universe has repurposed a scout mech as an ice cream van? That a crowd of little children in rural planets of the Crown Colonies know summer's really here when they hear the chimes and the stomp-stomp-stomp of Mister Whippy the Ice Cream Mech and follow him down the road, that his extended-range medium laser is actually just a hologram projecting the words MIND THAT CHILD? And, because it's UF, that Mister Whippy the Ice Cream Mech still fights crime? --- "She's old, she's lame, she's barren too, // "She's not worth feed or hay, // "But I'll give her this," - he blew smoke at me - // "She was something in her day." -- Garnet Rogers, Small Victory FiMFiction.net: we might accept blatant porn involving the cast of My Little Pony but as God is my witness we have standards. "The Big Fire deathstick dealers were found outside the local police station, tied up, unconscious, and inside large cones made of chocolate-coated wafer. The Q-Boss had a large chocolate flake sticking out of his mouth. More on this story as it develops..." |

Another of the vanishingly rare occasions in which I am almost sort of very nearly worth it. =] Also, was it in Llanfair? Please tell me it happened in Llanfair. I would pay many currencies to see Laura Kinney and the rest of the Scouts running after the ice cream 'Mech. And to see Mister Whippy the Ice Cream Destroid give friend Laura one of these, to her mild confusion (one assumes they're not a huge feature of life as an experimental weapon): I love this train of thought. I love the ice cream mech. Thank you for indulging my crazy. |

Franchising spread out, and while it isn't making inroads in some areas - mainly ones where the roads aren't up to having a mech wander through on a summer's day - it's probably fairly well known, although Chet the Safety Trooper, Brave Little Zolie, and Little Tiki are almost certainly more recognizable to the galaxy at large. Peter Eng -- Insert humorous comment here. |

Having spent a goodly chunk of the weekend killing (and getting killed by) these damn things, and not having had any experience with them prior to their appearance in MWO, my observations were roughly as follows: -- Oh hey, it's a chibified King Crab! -- What the hell is it made of? 100% refined fuckoffium? -- Ow. I mean, it's not as utterly facemelty as, say, the Timber Wolf? But geez. I almost kinda want me one of these just so I can join the club and not get Marauded all the time. :) --sofaspud --also, ker-fucking-OW |

So I woke up randomly about 20 minutes ago, and in the process of checking what time it was I realized that there was a Thing that happened yesterday that I had been looking forward to. So obviously I couldn't go back to sleep until I did something about it. Yeah. Been waiting a long time for this. --G. -><- Benjamin D.
