>I would just like to state for the record that "The Big O" is >kick-my-ass good, and I want an R. Dorothy Waynewright of my very own, >even if I have to build the kit version myself. *curses about work for a second* I've only seen two or three eps of "The Big-O," but I already agree with your opinion... However, some of the names escape me. By, "R." you mean "R." as in "R. Daneel Olivaw," correct? If so, I recommend either using a series of intelligent nano-machine colonies to construct various organs thus forming her or LEGOs. On another, related topic: Does TBO come on during the day, or just Midnight Run? Static-Pulse http://www.darkbeast.com http://levelx.cjb.net |

>I've only seen two or three eps of "The Big-O," but I already agree >with your opinion... However, some of the names escape me. By, "R." >you mean "R." as in "R. Daneel Olivaw," correct?Yes - Dorothy, the girl who lives with Roger after episode 2, is an android. (It was a nice touch to actually have Roger call her "R. Dorothy". I'll be interested to see, once the DVDs come out, if he does it in the original too.) >On another, related topic: Does TBO come on during the day, or just >Midnight Run? It's on during the day (5:30 Eastern), but it got pre-empted on Friday for "World's Finest", and as such, the two runs are now out of sync. Today's 5:30 will be episode 5, and 12:30 will be episode 6, because they already showed episode 5 at 12:30 on Friday even though they hadn't been able to show it at 5:30. A little weird, but better than not getting an episode at all last week... --G. -><- Benjamin D. But who knows, maybe she's a switch-hitter. I could probably get behind that. ... what?! --G. -><- Benjamin D. I take it all back. you guys can have Dorothy. I want my SO to grow up to be Roger. :) He's already got the size and build for it (6'2", 220). He just needs the dress sense and the car (he'll be fine driving it). Ard *dr00l!* Ard Sumhenner Ronin Research, Silicon Valley, CA

>>"Roger, I love your car." >>"Roger, I love your house." >>"Roger, I love your sulky artificial chick." > >"Roger, I love your machine-gun-toting, unflappable butler." Heh - that scene's been in CN's cobbled-together replacement-ED since the show's run began, and I've been wondering what context it had the whole time. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. I'm considering buying a statuette from Hobby Link Japan, but unfortunately it's cast in white resin and requires painting, and I'm lousy at that sort of thing. I'll probably get it anyway, just because I like her so much. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Hutchins, Co-Founder, Editor in Chief, Netadmin Eyrie Productions, Unlimited http://www.eyrie-productions.com/

Initial impressions, though, leave me wondering if it willbe formulaic <cool guy gets involved with bad guy's plot. they fight. sooner or later, BIG mecha appear, lots of explosions, the end> That said, it does have a certain style to it. <the art looks familiar, even though I have never seen an anime use that style before> As for R. I'm fairly certain there's some art talent in common between the two, but haven't gotten around to researching it myself yet. (And since Giant Robo is just about my favorite series - as shown by the $300 I spent on the GR Mega DVD set (bless you, my Apex) - I know the art style well.) -- Geoff Depew - Mephron "I think I sprained my anterior lobe just thinking about it." |

>Haven't seen that Oooh. Go see it. It's really, really good. Even though I've ordered it, I'm still gonna get the US release so I have it subtitled on DVD.
