"Fractured Space, anyone?"
|
LAST EDITED ON Dec-19-15 AT 05:42 PM (EST) [Belatedly occurred to me that a link to the game's website might be a good thing to include... --G.]Hey, is anybody here interested in trying Fractured Space? I bought one of the early access packs on Steam a while back and then more or less forgot about it as the semester ramped up, but the developers sent me three Steam gift codes for it today (to celebrate the December content update, which is apparently pretty substantial). They're free, just plug the code into the appropriate place on Steam and go. It's an online multiplayer space battle game—essentially World of Starships, though of course they can't call it that. I haven't played it much for reasons outlined above, but I've been pretty impressed with the presentation and whatnot on the few occasions I've doofed around with it some. First three persons to express an interest here get a PM with one of the codes. Sorry, they only work on Steam. If you have some philosophical objection to Steam, that's your prerogative, but it's no use telling me about it; to quote that quintessential thespian Michael Biehn in The Terminator, I didn't build the fucking thing. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. Honestly? Yeah, I'll take some of that action. I'm kind of hoping it'll be patterned after STO, but with a bit more strategy. =) We'll see. My tag on Steam is, weirdly enough, also 'Verbena'. And that's two of the three places I used it before switching. Hee! ------ Fearless creatures, we all learn to fight the Reaper Can't defeat Her, so instead I'll have to be Her |

>Honestly? Yeah, I'll take some of that action. OK, I sent you a Forum PM with your code. Because of the way Edge Case (the developer) sent them out, my end doesn't actually happen within Steam. >I'm kind of hoping >it'll be patterned after STO, but with a bit more strategy. =) We'll >see. Well, there's no "in person" part, it's just starship combat (though there are crew members, sort of like your tanks have crews in World of Tanks), but the UI is... vaguely similar. They really were making no bones about trying for a World of... game with spaceships. --G. -><- Benjamin D. >Oh, knowing me, I'll have a captain idea in mind whether they help me >out with that endeavor at all or not. XD Oh, that reminds me—they do have quite a lot of voice acting for the various crew members, and Jingles mentioned in his Monday audio-only-video-blog thingy that he's recorded a Captain Jingles pack for it. Not sure how one gets hold of it, but there's that. So they'll either be helping you with your characterize-the-captain thing or completely screwing with your groove, depending on how you look at it. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. I am - as my new sig might lead you to guess - quite enjoying World Of Cheating Torpedo Stalkers, even as a giant floating XP sack, so I'd certainly be interested in World Of Starships. ----- The most wonderful thing about BBs Is BBs are wonderful things Their sides are made out of iron Their guns are made out of pain They're crashy smashy bashy flashy fun-fun-fun-fun-fun But the most wonderful thing about BBs Is there is more than one The~re is more than one! |
