>For anyone who missed it (I was one, I thought it was next week), >series 17 released Sunday in the UK. I dunno what the turn around is >for transmisson to the US, but I'm a dirty pirate when it comes to >that. Yeah, I don't know either. The over/under on Doctor Who these days is "zero-day but you get to have commercials, American swine," so I'm still not watching it on BBC America. Actually I'm not watching it at all right now, because I'm annoyed about their US-style "gratuitous hiatus with cliffhanger" stunt, but that fit of pique will presumably pass one of these days. --G. -><- Benjamin D. LAST EDITED ON Jun-30-11 AT 07:06 AM (EDT) I think the hiatus isn't entirely gratuitous - Karen Gillan's got a film coming up and there just might not have been enough hours in the day for her to do this film, whatever it may be, and a full series of Doctor Who. Plus, Arthur Darvill is currently Mephistopheles somewhere on the West End and Matt Smith is... doing... something... probably.I should also point out that if this film is anything other than a feature length remake of Tipping The Velvet with La Gillan starring opposite Felicia Day, I'll still be annoyed with them. If it is that, I'll know I've finally had that long-promised psychotic break. EDIT: Also, you know the bit in Series 16 where Hammond drives a huge red truck through a wall? No? Me neither, because they shot it and put it in the montage at the beginning of the series and then forgot about it. Rest assured, though, it happens at the start this time. --- "Yeah, I'm definitely going to hell/But I'll have all the best stories to tell" -- Frank Turner, The Ballad of Me and My Friends |

See what you did? You reminded me that there are entire, free episodes of Top gear on the BBC's website, and now I've been listening to multiple road trips ( (I'm in season 6) and now they're driving through france...and i totally get where Road Film with Fighting comes from. t. has been laughing a lot today. At least with the new episodes, they do pad out the timeslot on BBCA to have the whole show, but with commercial breaks. So, for an hour-long episode, we get an 80-minute slot to include commercials, but we get the whole episode. Small price to pay. Otherwise, you'll need to wait until they go onto Netflix for streaming, like the older episodes.
