"A Little Phantasy Star"

PSO sometimes gets a little nod here and there, and while the series is plagued by problems with localization, I thought it would be fun to show what the long-removed successors of the Hunters Guild are up to in the current iteration of the source.

For those who've missed out.

First, the opening to the PC version of PSO2. With special guest star: Dark Ragne (Who amusingly enough is NOT Dark Falz.)

And then, the opening to the Vita version of PSO2. With special guest star: Falz Hunar (Who really IS Dark Falz.)

Yes. You can jump. While there are no areas in the game that have implemented skiing quite like the second opening does.. that is EXACTLY how people slide down slanted surfaces. We'd thought it was just a quirk of the physics engine!

EDIT:

Not too long ago, PSO2's PC release added a new opening cinematic, showing off a bit more of a different world in the lineup as well as adding the Duman race to the lineup of heroes.

Special guests: Dark Vibras (once again, not Dark Falz) and Dark Falz Apprentice, who is ALSO totally Dark Falz.

I completely forgot to update this with more cinematics, but Sega continues to support PSO2.

A new episode is out, Episode 3, in which we visit a planet divided into White and Black halves, inhabited by Japanese Oni (and a huge god of destruction). It looks rather comically like a giant Sacred Chao from space...

The latest flavor of Dark Falz is also running around.. but they are not quite so prominent this time.

Now introducing a new class: Bouncer, which uses photon blades that create shadow images of themselves and jet boots that allow them to kick magic at things.

Special Guest in this cinematic: Magatsu, who is totally not Zeiram's kaiju scale cousin (and not actually a Dark Falz).

EDIT: Interestingly, this is the FIRST of PSO2's opening cinematics to feature actual, in-game characters front and center. The male Cast with purple coloration and red running lights and Human woman with the pink space kimono are Saga and Katori, the Bouncer class trainers.
