"Mark All?"

Since the forum decides, with something of a regularity, if not a close one(thankfully), that I haven't read these 300+ posts since the last time I was logged in, yesterday, I was wondering...is there some sort of 'mark all as read', so I don't have to go through several months worth?

It's on the forum navigation bar after "Read New".

That's strange. It does that with "guest" users (i.e., ones who aren't logged in), since it has no way of tracking what they've looked at, but you must be logged in or you couldn't have posted. I wonder if something's up with the way your browser is handling the Forum's cookies or something. I've never seen it do that if I was logged in.

Regardless, as Rat notes, there is a Mark All button on the front page as well as on individual forum pages; clicking it has the same effect, except across the whole board at once.

The forum cookies don't include read statuses. Some time stamps, session ID information, and the authentication token. It might be a time stamp glitch. If restarting the browser doesn't show the Mark All link then try logging out and back in again. If that doesn't work then try deleting all of the cookies associated with eyrie-productions.com.

Hmmm...no, nothing like that. I'll have to try the cookies thing.

What's there is
Logout FAQ Search Read New User Menu Profiles

in the forum-all menu, and 'Post' instead of 'Read New' in the section-menus.

EDIT: After removing all cookies relating to Eyrie in all ways...still no 'Mark as read' in any form.

That's completely bizarre. " Mark All" should be between " Read New" and " User Menu". There is nothing unusual in your account setup that's visible from the admin page... if this were a support ticket I'd have to flag it "cannot reproduce" at this point (which was code for "hell if I know").

Same issue for me, no 'Mark all' button in sight. On my end, however, I don't have the thing where it reflags old posts. ...Most of the time, anyway.

Ah, here we go. Go to User Menu->Edit your preference and make sure Use MARK time stamp feature? is set to yes. I can't change that setting for other users through the admin interface, or - annoyingly - make it non-optional.

And there we go. Done Deal!
Interestingly, though, if I set it to 'yes', mark all as read, and then re-set it to 'no'...everything is unread again. Not a problem, I'll just keep it at 'yes', but it did find it interesting and amusing.

AND you have to let your browser keep cookies. At the moment, I am using my mom's .net, and her browser is set up NOT to; SO, even if I do mark as read, the darn cookie goes away when I close it.

Such is life.
