I bought the original game (Europe Edition) when it first came out.
The cinematics were awesome.
Each game got better.
This series is one of the few that I still play. I go back and start the series over and even now, the Original still looks DAMN Good!
The original books are not required because the Video Game Series gives you pretty much everything you need to understand the world and what is going on. This is good because the books were readily available in english until relatively recently.
The books add some very nice history and are referenced by the games, but even without the book knowledge, they still make sense in the game.
I mean, I just completed the books a week or so ago, but I had beaten the 3rd game twice months ago and a completed the DLC.
CD Project RED, made a great series that really give your choices and decision weight and consequences. And sometimes, you don't even realize the ramifications of your decision until much later...
Thanks!
