As opposed to my original joke, where I was referencing an old Johnny Carson routine about navigating the Greater LA highway snarl, where he says, "Stop at the Slauson Cutoff, get out of your car, and cut off your slauson."

The real Slauson Cutoff is apparently California State Route 90, formerly known as the Richard M. Nixon Freeway and renamed in 1974 for the obvious reasons. And that joke just writes itself, really.
