Cryptic never did catch onto the fact that Section 31 were meant to be the asshole scum the heroes take down at some point, instead making them the consistently smug shitheads that constantly dick us around. (See also; Sela) Thank god certain missions in the Cardassian arc where he got really annoying were removed. That, and some of the extra dialogue in the Devidian storyarc, which can be summed up as 'you naive fool and your petty morality, only Hard Men That Make Hard Choices can get things done'

And once again you totally trump my version/vision

:Adm Quinn's office:

Quinn: Arn't you supposed to be down by the Klingon border Commander?

Trey J: Well sir, I got these orders out of the blue from some arrogant SOB named Drake and needed to confirm if he can really do that.

Quinn: And you felt the need to ask in person.

Trey J: Umm, yessir. He seemed the type who not only could, but would mess with message traffic if it served his purpose.

Quinn: No comment, Commander. Sadly, he's worse than Jim Kirk ever was about pulling stunts totally beyond the rules and still coming out smelling like a rose. So go ahead and work with him, just be carefull and keep your back covered.

Of COURSE you wernt
expecting it!

The overarching theme of Zeb Gryphon's career thus far, given the way he ended up in the 25th century to begin with, is like that faux medieval tapestry that made the rounds online a while back. BEHOLD YE FIELD IN WHICH I GROW MY FVCKS. LOOK ON IT AND SEE THAT IT IS BARREN. :)

Okay, after a short google search, and a rather longer effort to stop laughing, I have to say that's even better than the medieval version of "All Your Base Are Belong To Us"...

As I mentioned afyer finding out about this and reading up on the stuff:

If I was writing the endgame for the Section 31 arc, it would have had one of your options being something like...

"See, the reason I got into Starfleet was because I believe in its mission, its morals and its ethics. Your attitude here in 31, that whole thing that you make the hard decisions that get things done, morals and ethics be damned, is pretty much the _exact opposite_ of it. You go for the easy solution. Finding a way out of some of this shit in a way that doesn't leave hundreds of millions dead? That's hard. But you know what's going to be easy? Teaching you what we used to call back on K-7 the Klingon Shore Leave Fandango."

Hah! This is awesome. I would add but one thing:

RE YOUR SUDDEN APPEARANCE ON MY VIEWSCREEN, PRESUMING TO ORDER ME TO CONDUCT OPERATIONS THAT ARE, FRANKLY, AS SHADY AS SHIT, WITHOUT ANY VISIBLE JUSTIFICATION FOR YOUR OBVIOUS ASSUMPTION THAT YOU HAVE UNLIMITED AUTHORITY, OR INDEED ANY AUTHORITY WHATSOEVER
