I suspect it's more a matter of Fritz not being a prick about it and letting her know that she was no longer the bride just as soon as he made up his mind. This was a marriage of convenience for political reasons, so while she might have been disappointed, I doubt she was devastated by the change in plans. She might have even been relieved, if she was being used as a pawn in the first place.
Still, it's nice to see her being such a good sport about it on-screen, as it were, especially the part about punching her brother :)
